Boehner's Deal to Avoid a Shut Down

Seems reasonable...
  • Repeal of the Medical Device Tax
  • One year delay on the individual mandate
  • The Senate's Continuing Resolution gets pushed to December 15th
  • Troops get paid regardless

You people operate in f'ing bizarro world. The creditworthiness of the US shouldn't be a bargaining chip for partisan agendas of any stripe.

R's aren't concerned about Obamacare because it might wreck the economy, they're concerned bc it would be a D legislative achievement if successful.

You think Obamacare is going to end up helping the economy? When I ask that, I mean actually saving money?

How did those skewed lamestream media polls work out for Romney? Ignoring the demographic death spiral is not a plan for ever taking the white house again.

The alternative is we're going to wreck the economy? F that noise.
Because:

1. Members on both sides of the aisle think the medical device tax should be repealed.

2. The President has already unilaterally delayed the business mandate for a year.

3. Because they don't want to cause an government shutdown that they claim will wreck the economy.

The credit worthiness of the US isn't a bargaining chip if you trust the democrats to make reasonable concessions to avoid wrecking the economy.

Our credit worthiness is being flushed down the toilet regardless. We have already been down graded once and it will continue to happen unless we dramatically change the way we operate as a nation. Obamacare is a continuation of the same terrible policies that has brought us to this point.

Where have you been over the past several decades worrying about our credit as the government continually spent more than it was bringing in?

The credit down grades are coming regardless of wether the government shuts down or not. You are going to have to come up with a better reason for the republicans not to stand their ground.

The so-called tea party Republicans have no real relationship with the establishment Republicans who partnered with democrats to bring us the 800K jobs lost a month. And let's be clear here, it was Republicans playing ball with the big government democrats who led us to that point.

As President Barack Obama’s signature Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act enters the all-important sign-up phase next week, the president finds himself with some of the lowest approval ratings of his presidency even as Republicans in an unpopular Congress maneuver to block the health-care legislation from taking effect.

A Reuters-Ipsos poll of 1,729 Americans taken Sept. 20-24 found only 39 percent of those surveyed approve of the job Obama is doing as president, while 55 percent disapprove.

The Reuters-Ipsos poll found that 22 percent of those responding thought the country was headed in the right direction, while 64 percent thought it was on the wrong track.

Then there is 146...rounds of golf. Including today while the shutdown he seems to want is ramping up.
