I could say "NO, If people wanted Obamacare FUNDED they would have voted Dems into the House but they got their asses kicked there instead!" And you know the difference between my argument and yours? I have both POLLS (public against Obamacare) and the fact that this is how our govt works to back me up.

Again, as soon as you change the govt so that funding originates in the Senate, get back to me otherwise you failed to prove that the GOP is the extortionist.

Doesn't really matter guys. Obama and the dems have a proven failed agenda in the new market place. Fiscal responsibility will eventually prevail and this regime will take on a Hoover like place in history.

The most immoral thing about it is dems are spending money on taxpayers not even born yet. That kind of shit should be illegal.

It was bad for Repubs regardless. The media was going to see to that. Do you honestly think they would have remained quiet had Bush unilaterally changed laws without going through congress????

If harry reid was asking for a background check bill as a condition to keeping the government open, then you'd be right.

Bush issued more executive signing statements than anyone in history, iirc.

But i dont think obama did that. I think hhs, which is a cabinet agency issued regulations. But it was a mistake to grant waivers, which i have said repeatedly will hurt rural hospitals.

No, I'm still right. The House is doing its job and Reid is threatening DEFAULT to extort them. Period.

Hell, I'm not even arguing Obamacare at this point. I'm arguing the MISrepresentation of the issue by Reid and the media jerking him off along the way. That's the part that sticks in my craw.

I guess you can see it that way if you are persuaded by these semantic inversions of reality. But as i pointed out in another thread to taco, BOTH HOUSES HAVE ALREADY PASSED A BUDGET. None of this has been necessary for months if boehner would simply do his constitutional duty and appoint conferees to resolve the bills.

But the bottom line is very simple. Republicans are asking for favors to keep the government open and democrats arent. Its objectively clear who is asking for the benefit here.

I think most people look at it the opposite way especially when the House voted 40+ times to defund Obamacare. So since they didn't get what they wanted they are going to shut down the government or don't extend the debt limit.
