Moderate House Republicans may Revolt Tonight

New York Republicans Peter King and Michael Grimm have apparently whipped their colleagues and discovered that they have at least 25 republicans willing to join the Democrats to sign and enact a discharge petition. (For those who don't know what a discharge petition is, they are very rare since it basically requires rebelling against the house leadership. If a discharge petition has enough signatures, then a bill is forced to the house floor for a vote).

You and RNR need to make your own party where you give this lip service like you are sick of both parties yet fall in line to whatever hilarity the Republicans are up at to *every* single turn.

Spineless followers of a spineless party. It is a nice fit.

While we are waiting for the house, I think this might be a good time to remind everyone that the tea party republicans are so stupid, they actually got Obama to agree to a chained CPI and to large Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security cuts in exchange for minor tax increases, and they refused that no-brainer of a deal because they were pretty sure Romney would win.

The younger generation, since before I was born, trends more liberal. Your point in no way invalidates mine.

If you are stuck on "liberal" versus "conservative" then you've already lost. You should be thinking authoritarian versus libertarian. The funny thing is, I am an actual conservative. More of a Barry Goldwater conservative. I didn't have to make up a new term like "neocon" to pretend not to bastardize my political beliefs.

I agree. And as I see it, both of the major parties have majority authoritarian leaders, voters and policies.

This. Most Young people I know who identify as republican crave fiscally conservative and socially liberal candidates. The more familiar GOP base is literally dying off.
