Has anybody actually been affected by the shut down yet?

Do we have any furloughed government workers posting?

Anybody sucking a living off the government teat worried about that next welfare check rolling in?

Anybody having to rethink that scheduled trip to the Grand Canyon next week?

Let's hear about it.

Doesn't the Federal Gov't shut down (except for essential services) every Saturday/Sunday/federal holiday?

I don't recall leftists going crazy every weekend, or every federal holiday, claiming the world is going to end because of a shutdown.

Right, total federal spending in each state. I get that. In a prior post I made a reference to "not including military", which was misleading/confusing to say the least.

The narrative that I'm pushing is that many red states are net beneficiaries of the federal tax/spend program. This data supports that. Where do you disagree?

This line has been thrown out by Democrats almost as much as the laughable "war on women". Consider who pays taxes ad who collects transfers on the individual level. Romney won households over $50k comfortably and got shredded by 27 points on households below. Ask yourself what kind of voter in the blue state is paying the freight.

Yep. A little research shows me that you're dead right. SS has been in deficit for a few years now, so that's not an option. Very depressing.

Hey, let's invade someone.

That sucks. Good luck man...

The government has already taken away our sidewalks due to shutdown.

In a few days I imagine they'll come for the roads.

Somebody needs to check on Dirk to see if he still thinks the food will kill us, the prisons will gush forth bad people, and planes will all be grounded.

Leftist bullshit again proves to be leftist bullshit.

Government workers who didn't go to work today and didn't work today are all pissed they don't get paid for not working today.

Sort of like people who dont work for the government don't get paid when they dont go to work.
