Oops: MSNBC Anchor Canít Access Obamacare Exchange

http://www.nationalreview.com/corner...andrew-johnson

MSNBCís Mara Schiavocampo ran into difficulties as she tried to sign up for the newly launched health-care exchanges on Tuesday. After getting an error message on the website, she called the help line twice, but wasnít able to reach a navigator on the other end. Instead, she was put on hold for 35 minutes.

ďIf I were signing up for myself, this is where my patience would be exhausted,Ē Schiavocampo said before she gave up.

The exchanges, which went online Tuesday morning, have been riddled with technical difficulties in states across the country. The administration has said that the glitches consumers are encountering will be ironed out by Tuesday afternoon.

Well that's hard to say. It' not "exotic" in that it's new stuff but it is difficult because it has to interface with really OLD stuff. The established systems that need to be accessed go back years and some use horribly outdated tech. So that can present a problem. Nothing competent people couldn't have addressed given their budget and time frame though.

Thanks for the info. You are right they did have time and resources on their side which leaves me to believe someone somewhere screwed the pooch otherwise things would be going a lot smoother.

Which IMHO is why Obama and the Reid shoud have just conceded the fact that the system is not ready and a one year delay would not have been so bad. And the majority of those legislators would love to ditch the Medical Device tax.

I think the biggest reason for the screw up is that you have people who are using to putting informational data online and not dealing with transactional data. Combine that with the normal lack of accountability and motivation found in govt projects and you get the abortion we have now.

The problem is Obama and Reid had already taken the hard line approach before the system went online. Now a reasonable person would have stepped back after the problems came to light and said, "In light of these problems a little delay to get them worked out is in order." But the egos at play couldn't back away from their stance once they had made it so forcibly known.

This faulty system coming on at the same time the republicans chose to make a stand is going to play in their favor big time as is all plays out.

I agree that it is very hard to walk back from that hardline stance.

Good pr is not a strong suit for them. Never have so many boneheaded moves come together like they have this week.

When I try to do it, I am attempting to fill out the security questions and it keeps giving me the "invalid format for security answers" error, even though they meet the specifications.

This website looks like some sort of a high school class project

They have been working on this for a couple of years with every resource one could imagine. I understand so bugs but this is silly~

Today's error has GOT to be my all time favorite.

The requested URL /serverdown.html was not found.

HAHAHAHA So awesome. That's the webserver telling you that there was a problem loading the page that was supposed to tell you that there was a problem.
