The affordable health care act is NOT affordable!

Our own survey ? If you have been on the exchanges to see where you stand on the insurance premiums & deductibles, if you may, please post here the results.

If you needed another reason to oppose government run health care here’s one to make your blood boil.

from Forbes:

The federal government wants to reduce the number of Americans diagnosed each year with cancer. But not by better preventive care or healthier living. Instead, the government wants to redefinethe term “cancer” so that fewer conditions qualify as a true cancer. What does this mean for ordinary Americans — and should we be concerned?

On July 29, 2013, a working group for the National Cancer Institute (the main government agency for cancer research) published a paper proposing that the term “cancer” be reserved for lesions with a reasonable likelihood of killing the patient if left untreated. Slower growing tumors would be called a different name such as “indolent lesions of epithelial origin” (IDLE). Their justification was that modern medical technology now allows doctors to detect small, slow-growing tumors that likely wouldn’t be fatal. Yet once patients are told they have a cancer, many become frightened and seek unnecessary further tests, chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgery. By redefining the term “cancer,” the National Cancer Institute hopes to reduce patient anxiety and reduce the risks and expenses associated with supposedly unnecessary medical procedures. In technical terms, the government hopes to reduce “overdiagnosis” and “overtreatment” of cancer.http://poorrichardsnews.com/post/627...s-of-cancer-in

Just wait until the government begins redefining "life" and "death" so they can avoid “overdiagnosis” and “overtreatment” of those conditions...

Can someone tell me more about Obamacare. I plan on retiring in 1 to 2yrs. Will Obama pay for my healthcare if I dont work? Is it like social security and it automatically comes out of ur paycheck? How will it work exactly?

I'll believe that line of horse shit, when HELL freezes over. How many do you think can really afford the monthly premiums that are as much, or more than many make, and the higher than a cock on a ferris wheel deductibles? You've got to be the most ignorant SOB that I've ever had the displeasure of seeing, on an internet message board. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, FOOL!

I posted this in another thread but I'll put it here too...

I'll tell you why Obummercare needs to eat a bag of dicks while crashing into a flaming AIDS tree! Now this is only my personal experience but its part of how ****ed the system is.

Being self employed I pay for my own health insurance and have so for a number of years. My current policy is designed as a 'high deductible' plan. It's what health insurance should be, it covers me for 'oops' or 'unlucky' major events and preventative care. But for day to day issues I self insure. I have a strong incentive to take care of my health because it costs me if I don't.

My current plan has a $4k deductible, after that I pay zero and insurance covers the rest. It's blue cross/blue shield. Last year it cost me $141 a month, with the phasing in of certain parts of Obummercare this year it cost $176 a month( with no difference in coverage).

Due to Obummercare my current health plan will no longer exist come Jan 1st. But now I get access to great plans on the Obummercare exchange right??? Wrong...the comparable plan I'm offered now has a deductible that is at 4.5k(compared to 4k) and once I hit that deductible I pay 40% of costs until I hit the out of pocket max of $6350(compared to paying zero if I reach my 4k deductible now).

Sure with inferior coverage to what I've got now I'll be paying less right??? Not a chance, with Obummercare I'll go from paying $176 a month now to $297 a month in 2014. A $121 increase per month all for the privilege of having inferior coverage than what I have now.

So you can see how some of us want Obummercare to choke on a bag of dicks.
