Should we default on the nation's debts over Obamacare?

Take whatever position you want: that you want Obamacare repealed, that you want a couple parts of it repealed, that you want it to be delayed...

Whatever position you anti-ACAers adopt these days, and answer this question:

Do you believe we should default on our debts because Obamacare is being implemented in its current form?

Their tactics, if the threats are played out, aren't in anyone's interests. If they default, there are only huge losers. Therefore that tactic should be out of bounds. We govern by elections, not by threats that would take down the US economy.

So if the Democrats are at fault, and won't meet halfway, what exactly are the republicans willing to give up, meeting halfway and all?

Explain in detail how going through with defaulting on the debt leads to a better America. Walk me through why you think we should default.

Defaulting = Lowering our Credit Rating

Lower Credit Rating = Hard to borrow money

Less borrowed money = Real Cuts in Waste

That makes no sense. We govern by the collective decisions of elected representatives. Those elected officials are free to consider public opinion but are not bound to it. Obama and Harry Reid's threats to take down the government over a few minor, and in some cases temporary, tweaks to Obamacare will lead to the result you profess to find repugnant every bit as much as the House's threat to stand firm, but you don't seem to have any problem with their tactics. It doesn't sound like you are as opposed to a government shutdown as you'd like us to think.

Excelent point. So far obama and Reid refuse to vote or even discuss how many proposals from the house? Zero counter proposals just hardline refusal. You may wake up.

Republicans have already come off of their demand to defund Obamacare completely. Now they're simply trying to get a few tweaks to Obamacare that are popular with the public.

As when democrats initially forced the unpopular law on America without a single Republican vote, they once again stand in opposition to the public will.

Government shutdown and defaulting on the debt are two different things.
