Why not ObamaCare?

Now, I've been meaning to ask a couple questions for a few days now, especially since the government shutdown.

To me, the whole government shutdown thing seems like the most childish shit on the part of the Republicans. It really seems like it's a "If I can't have what I want, neither can you" situation, like the Republicans care more about their own agenda than what is in the best interest of the people of the US.

The main question I have though, is, what is so bad about ObamaCare? Now, admittedly, I don't know the ins and outs of ObamaCare, but is it not just health-care? If it is, I seriously do not understand what the problem is. It works for so many countries in which healthcare is already in place.

If ObamaCare is not simply just health-care then please educate me as to what the main differences are, and why it is such a "problem".

Thanks

The republicans have passed a spending bill that gives Obama EVERYTHING he asked for out side of Obamacare which has obvious issues.

Which side is saying if "I can't get what I want....."?

Hey, I'm not saying that the Dems are any better. But stopping people from looking at Mt Rushmore isn't quite the same magnitude as the situation at hand.

Who wouldn't want healthcare from a bill passed
in the dark of night
by a simple majority
that not one of them read
that's 2,700 pages long
written by the insurance lobbyists
with an additional 10,000 pages of regulations
where the people who passed it and signed it into law are exempt
but the citizens are forced to buy under penalty of law
that doesn't keep healthcare costs down like politicians promised
administered by the IRS
creating an additional 16,000 jobs for them
but not one job created for any doctor or nurse
where healthcare will be rationed by a panel of bureaucrats (aka "death panel")
with a president who unilaterally changes the law whenever he wants?

The Democrats are the ones that are saying 'my way or the highway'... no negotiations at all.

Except that ObamaCare is already in effect, and the Republicans want to rid of it so badly that this happens.

And a republican government would never force anyone out of their homes due to being on federal land?

The Dems and Obama are also the party that said "it's all or nothing". The Reps have passed smaller bills funding various parts of the government and the White House has said it will veto them. I personally wish that they would quit putting the whole mess together with the all the "pork" from both sides together then taking one vote for everything. I like the idea of smaller legislation and more votes so that there is less "I like it overall but some of it stinks". Smaller pieces means less voting for crap you don't like.

No, the democrats want to protect it so badly that this happens.

It was passed in the House with out a single republican vote. You cannot have such sweeping and life altering legislation with out bipartisan support and not expect a fight.

You cannot pass a law that the majority of the people did not approve of when it was passed, and still do not approve of, and not expect a fight.

This was shoved down the country's throat against the country's will. Which side is not playing well with others?

Has not happened before to my knowledge. Hell, even the former democratic president Clinton didn't pull this stunt. Nor did he barricade open air memorials that are open 24/7.

Scumbag that he was/is, he understood that the power of the government was divided by the Constitution and that he had to negotiate with the other side. Obama is taking the exact opposite approach.

I am against anything the Federal Government "provides" except for the Military.

Everything else should be covered by local government or personal responsibility.
