Prediction on the gov't shutdown & debt limit increase.

Congressional Democrats and President Obama will continue to refuse the government shutdown and debt limit increase as opportunities for political extortion.

Congressional Republicans will continue insist in some sort of concession before agreeing to fund the government or raise the debt limit.

To avert a default by the United States Treasury, President Obama will raise the debt limit himself, or do away with it altogether by executive order.

Justifiably seeing as this is unconstitutional, Republicans in the House will initiate impeachment proceedings, and impeach Obama in 2014.

The impeachment efforts will die in the Senate, but politically, the attempt to rejuvenate the base will help the GOP in midterm turnout.

There will be no debt limit deal. Perhaps ever again. The government shutdown will conclude when Democrats and Republicans agree to postpone or fully repeal the medical device tax in Obamacare in early November.

I made my prediction on this a couple weeks ago and have seen nothing to change my mind. Obama won't back down and the House will cave on both the shutdown and debt ceiling at the 11th hour.

To be more specific, at the debt ceiling 11th hour, or within 48 hours, the House will pass a CR and debt ceiling hike with no substantive concessions from democrats. It will probably contain a symbolic concession.

That's substantive, although its not a concession since most democrats want it gone. Nevertheless, I think it doesn't happen.

I predict that there wil be short-term continuing resolution and debt limit increase. That Obama and the congressional democrats will come to the table in good faith to discuss long term budget, fiscal and tax policy. Obama will get serious criticism from the left because he will be willing to go with something like Simpson-Bowles with different numbers. Enough Democrats would be willing to vote for it.

But the GOP will realize that Obama would be deemed a very successful President if he was President over a grand bargain that had good long term prospects. And by the time this all happens, there may be significant diplomatic progress on the Iranian nuclear issue and slow progress in other Middle Eastern countries like Syria, and Egypt.

So then the GOP will sabotage the deal because they will remember that the President is half-black and do not want significant progress for our country when the President has that much black in him.

So Hillary runs and is elected with enough coattails that there are Dem majorities in both houses and then the long term fix turns out to be something the GOP dislikes more than the deal they would have had with Obama.

Wake up, you ignorant commie. This isn't Burger King, and you're not going to get it your way. The way things are going right now, there is no way the Dems control both houses, unless you believe everything that the lamestream media is trying to shove down everyone's throat. Obummer's approval rating is at an all time low, the dumbocrats keep pissing off large chunks of people in the US, so prepare to lose the Senate in the mid-term elections. The trucker's will be in DC in a few days, with 1 million vets on the last day. I hope that city has more problems than Detroit.

So do you think that Obama and the Democrats would not negotiate after Congress passed a continuing resolution and raised the debt limit?

Everybody knows that they would.

The GOP song and dance is all about pride and saving face.

They are just embarrassed that they were forced to pull a stunt because they made promises that they can't keep in a representative democracy with a bicameral legislature and an executive with veto power.

This is 100% wrong. They will NOT negotiate in good faith in any significant way after getting what they need. They have proven this in the recent past. I can't believe that you honestly think this. It's preposterous and no serious person believes this.

How about a wager? I say that there will be negotiations after short-term CR and short-term debt limit increase.

So you think Obama and the Democrats would be "getting what they need." if there is a short-term "clean" continuing resolution and a short-term increase in the debt limit?

How is that the Democrats getting what they need?

Why is the government running and our nation paying its debts and financial obligations needs only for the Democrats?

Pretend as if the POTUS did not have not a black daddy when answering these questions.

Sure they would...just as soon as we see the 400k jobs Pelosi said would be created the day Obamacare was signed into law.

This is the same party that actually told the people "we have to pass the bill before we know what's in it". The same party that has already said "we can't cut spending anymore, we have cut all we can".

GTFO if you believe they would honor any agreements to negotiate later.
