Chiefs have the #1 scoring defense in football after 5 weeks

We are only allowing 11.6 points per game...even more impressive is that the second place team is NE at 14 ppg. That's a sizable lead.

Some other rankings after 5 weeks...

1st in sacks
1st in passes defensed
1st in defensive touchdowns
1st in recovered fumbles
3rd in interceptions
7th in yards allowed per game
4th in pass yards allowed per game
21st in rush yards allowed per game (Philly game skewed this one)

Translation: the defense is killin it

I was a hater before the season...but I kind of like Alex Smith now. He's miles better than anything we've head since Trent.

A 3-4 DE is easy to replace...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think it's time to start loading up on offensive playmakers at skill positions early and often

Again, Avery had to come back to the ball. That is a testament to Avery as a receiver, not Smith as a downfield QB.

Yep. Every deep ball completed to receivers around the league in the history of the game is ALWAYS perfect, and ALWAYS in stride, NEVER requiring the receiver to make a play on the football, its just always right there, between the numbers. Smith is the only quarterback who needs his receiver to do his ****ing job to make the play happen. Matter of fact, Im surprised the officials and the league let those plays stand.

He's limited turning the ball over.

Smith protects the football. Its led to 5-0. Protecting the football, and heaving it downfield every time you drop back are opposite sides of the coin.

You probably think Romo's stats in that Dallas game absolve him of his idiocy trying to push the ball downfield late in the game, resulting with him giving the football away also.

Its not about going deep every time you drop back. Its about doing what it takes to win. Smith fired 2 deep balls, for 2 huge completions, and you want to bitch about what it looked like.

Your and ****ing idiot.

They're definitely worth the cost.
