I'm having trouble connecting that with the topic.

I knew you would. Critical thinking isn't your strong point.

That's not the problem.

Obama has made plenty of concessions. He gave the Russians everything they wanted and got almost nothing in return in 2010. He's a laughingstock in that regard, until he finally sees something he really wants like a government shutdown.

Oh, so he didn't want a shutdown last time, go gave the Speaker 98 percent of what he wanted.

But now he does want the shut down. Huh, wonder what changed? Perhaps you could explain that. Or perhaps you are just a stupid.

Could it be that Republicans are tying to make it common to use a government shut down and debt ceiling to force their agenda onto the other branches of government because they don't have the votes to do it the traditional way and Obama, seeing as he gave in last time and Republicans still kept manufacturing these crises, isn't buying their stupidity anymore?

Yes, something changed. Obama no longer has to risk his own re-election. You're welcome.

Huh, so Obama wants to shut down the government because he doesn't have an election coming up. And what does he gain from this? Obama shuts down the government (even though he hasn't vetoed anything) because.....

And you never did answer this question:

If the Speaker got 98 percent of what he wanted, why are we in this position again?

Because he thinks he can hurt Congressional Republicans with it and he doesn't have to risk hurting his own reelection chances. Duh. This isn't really that hard.

On the other hand, sometimes it's really hard understanding why you think something is relevant. I still don't understand the connection you're trying to draw. Did you think the previous Boehner/Obama negotiation settled everything between democrats and Republicans for all time?
