And I was thinking this would just end up being foolishness and the usual.

Why do you have to watch your back and how does anyone know who you voted for?

I know a lot of those crazy Gore voters were mad, but I don't recall hearing about a lot of Nader-related violence. And, it was 13 years ago. I think you can relax now.

As for the rest of that stupidity. Governement and taxes are not force.
Yes, yes it is. Do something the government doesn't like say make three deposits of just under $10,000 dollars on the same day. Doesn't seem like that would be illegal right, why would the government care how I deposit my money? It is. Its called structuring and you will be lucky if the only thing that happens is they confiscate your money through asset forfeiture.

Quote:
No one is forcing you to live here. Taxes are the price you pay to have a functional society. You don't want to live in Society, leave.
No, taxes are the wealth that the government extracts from its citizens to provide for its own growth since no one in their right mind would willingly pay for the 'services' government renders at the price the government renders them at. Nor would anybody willing buy the rules, regulations, sinecures to special interest groups, and market disruption unless they were forced to by the barrel of a gun.

Just like the gangster extorts money for the 'protection' of a shopkeepers shop, the government extorts money for the 'protection' of the citizens rights.

Quote:
Just LEAVE. You choose to pay taxes by Choosing to live here.
The tried and true 'love it or leave it' canard. Maybe I see America right now as the least worst of bad options.

Quote:
Or, in the Words of Bejamin Franklin, "He that does not like civil Society on these Terms, let him retire and live among Savages. He can have no right to the benefits of Society, who will not pay his Club towards the Support of it."
I am sure if you socked Ben Franklin with the taxes, rules, regulations, laws, prohibition, payoffs to special interest groups, kickbacks, social welfare, and graft in the government today. He would probably choose the savages.

Since you like quotes let me leave you with Alexis de Tocqueville

Quote:
A democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it.
