Is the Republican Party the thing of the past? Doom and Gloom

I'll give the democrats this, they have a brilliant approach to guarantee a long career in politics. They won't be beaten again.

Keys to victory:
-Own the mainstream media. CNN, MSNBC etc
-Own the national news papers. NYT, Washington Post etc
-Own the online "news" like Yahoo News and other popular online news sites.
-Own Hollywood

This creates propaganda 24x7.

-Own the uninformed voter that cares more about voting based on race or their own personal agenda's instead of what's better for the country.

-Black vote is heavy Obama for the simple reason: he is black. They own a strong advantage in the woman's vote because of Pro Choice and they revere Hillary Clinton.

-Own the poor vote by sacrificing the upper/middle class by extreme taxes. They are much more likely to turn out because what else do they have to do other than vote. Voting can be seen as their job, because if they don't vote, their handouts can get taken away or altered. They are also moving a lot of the middle class into the poor class, thus increasing their voting pool.

-Own the Hispanic vote by opening the floodgates along the southern border no matter how damaging this is to the economy. This vote will only get larger.

-Own the younger vote by putting extreme leftist in colleges to pollute young, impressionable minds.

-Buy votes with special treatment. Obamacare is hated by the country, yet they depend on the unions so they pass exemptions for them. Oh, don't want their own party in congress to start questioning it, so they pass exemptions for them.

Their tactics are sickening, but brilliant. No way can the Republicans or any potential party compete with the propaganda machine, free handouts and illegal immigrants amnesty. I honestly can't see the Republicans ever winning another presidential election and after this latest f up, I don't see them controlling the house/senate anytime soon.

Never has a President been able to and excused for lying as much as Obama. Never have I seen a President continue to convince people that it's OK to spend up to 1/4 of your income on healthcare, where no where in the world spends more than 4% of their income on healthcare. I sat and watched a young democrat college student at a very prominent school beg to be taxed 60% of her income or more. Are you effing stupid I thought?

I think there is more likely to be a civil war, complete collapse of the US or the red states seceding before republicans control the white house again, not unless things change significantly.

As an American, I am terrified. Regardless of political affiliation, you should be to.

Latinos didnt use to vote in lock step, nor did Muslims or Asians. You dumbasses are scaring them all off then blaming welfare.

Hint: angry scared balding white dudes aren't the only people who pay attention to republican primary debates. Psychotic barely concealed racist rhetoric has the opposite effect on a minority's fear center as it has on yours. Only their fear is justified. They know what you nutjobs would do if you ever had unchecked power.

Well Donger wants to shoot them at the border. And I've never seen one conservative on here denounce him for it. Another dozen of you or so think every illegal immigrant is on welfare. I've seen the word 'dirty' thrown around a lot.

Quote:
By 1938, unemployment remained high at 19 percent and did not fall below 10 percent until 1941.[15] The Hoover administration’s inability to curtail the disintegrating economy during the initial, and worst, years of the depression led many to despise President Hoover. The perceived lack of assistance from the federal government upset many citizens and organized labor, and, in order to improve “organized labor’s hostile attitude toward his administration,” President Hoover used immigrants in the country as a scapegoat to divert criticism (Balderrama 4).
Quote:
Studies have provided conflicting numbers for how many people were “repatriated” during the Great Depression. The State of California passed an "Apology Act" that estimated 2 million people were forced to relocate to Mexico and an estimated 1.2 million were US citizens. Authors Balderrama and Rodriguez have estimated that the total number of repatriates was about one million, and 60 percent of those were citizens of the United States. These estimates come from newspaper articles and government records and the authors assert all previous estimates severely under counted the number of repatriates (Balderrama). An older study conducted by Hoffman argues that about 500,000 people were sent to Mexico. His data comes from the "Departmento de Migracion de Mexico" or “Mexican Migration Service,” which is said to be a reliable source since the Mexican government had many ports along the border in which Mexicans were required to register and could do so free of charge (Aguila and Hoffman).
Yeah let's put our future in the hands of the party that openly courts xenophobes and racists and calls us all leeches on society. What could possibly go wrong.

Republicans need to quit crying.

They put forth people unpopular in their own party who don't embody their core beliefs.

The Republican party is supposed to be about a core belief set.

The Democrats don't piss on their own base.

Think about it: if next election the Dem running for POTUS was pro-choice and pushing welfare reform they'd lose.

So they don't ****ing do it...

Yeah, all the parties have their issues. Just keep an open mind and be an adult. I could go on about how your side of the isle hate guns because they kill, but if a woman wants to suck a fetus out from between her legs, that's fine. Say what you like, that's a pretty odd stance!

So while my principles are conservative in nature, I'm hardly sold-out to any one party. You might want to try the same and not be beholden to any one party.

And it's not the conversation that we're having that I find disturbing, it's the ones/topics we're not openly discussing on the national stage that are of concern to me. We'll see how this turns out - and the "this" refers to the republic. Perhaps I'm old, but I sense we're a lot closer to melt-down than people want to admit.

That's a pretty ridiculous thing to say. There's a lot to gain for leftists to keep spreading the lie that Republicans are racists though, so I guess I understand why you're doing it.

Do you not read this forum? donger wants to kill illegals at the border and the rest of you nod along. A bunch of others have spewed racist filth (that either stops short of or just crosses the line) and the liberals on this forum are the only ones to denounce call them out. Look up the Southern Strategy some time.

You can't have it both ways. You don't get to curry the racist vote then turn around expect minorities not to notice. No one is that dumb. Of course your side has developed the mythology that it's all about welfare. You refuse to acknowledge that your party's angry, backwards rhetoric is losing tons and tons of hard working minorities who receive no form over govt aid.

You really should read this and think about it: http://www.ranyontheroyals.com/2012/...op-and-me.html I guess Rany is just a welfare queen huh? It seems like you guys are scaring off a new entire segment of the country every day.
My guess is most of you don't care. You'd rather go down with the ship than make what you see as concessions to minorities to keep your party relevant. Just keep in mind if you lose Texas it's game over.

And no believe it or not I don't want that to happen. I want republicans to come back from beyond the pale and become a sensible party again. Left unchecked either party's special interests run wild and screw over the average voiceless voter. You need strong parties on each side to beat up the other side's thugs every now and then.

You and I probably have a lot more in common than you think. My cousin is a well-informed fiscal conservative who's absolutely disgusted with republicans right now. Him and I have great conversations as he's a lot closer to me than he is to the right wing of his party.

Yes I know I bash republicans on here pretty hard. But don't mistake the intensity of my vitriol to assume I lean far left. I am completely against public sector unions. I'm happy about what happened in Wisconsin. I think entitlements are out of control and being used as a cynical political pawn right now - providing perverse incentives all over the place. I think medical tort reform is a great idea. I will be glad to send you links to another forum where I get in arguments with liberals about this stuff all the time.

I would probably be a republican if this were 40-50 years ago. Of course Eisenhower would be a liberal democrat today (free Interstate Highways = Socialism!). I just can't stomach what the republican party is doing right now. They've managed to create a media bubble which openly lies (and yes a lot more than any bias the MSM has toward the left) which allows them to basically say one thing and do the exact opposite - with zero repercussions from their base. The only thing that cuts through the propaganda fear and anger haze is when republicans directly try to take money out of their base's pocket as they did with the payroll tax fight. With everything else fear of the "others" on the left trumps facts.

My mom is an educated lawyer who is fairly well-informed politically. She sent me a satirical article that supposedly had Obama on Meet the Press before the 2008 election saying he and Michelle liked to attend flag burnings, and all kinds of other even more ridiculous stuff. She wanted to know if it was real. Yeah Obama said he likes to attend flag burnings on a major network show before the election and somehow no one noticed. That sneaky liberal MSM buried it or something. This is how far up the bubble the average conservative voter is right now. They have no idea what reality is anymore. A completely hoodwinked, scared, pissed-off populace - this is a situation that's ripe for something horrible to happen.

This situation needs to right itself before we can move forward.

If it "stops short" it's not racist, so why do you describe it that way?

When liberal flacks constantly go around accusing political opponents of racism while supporting policies designed around group interests themselves, it's natural that actual racists will prefer the party of individual liberty and tolerance. That doesn't mean that Republicans "curry the racist vote". It's simply a byproduct of not being on an overzealous witch hunt.

The Southern Strategy is ancient history. Were you even alive?

P.S. Piss off and try to think beyond yourself, Rany.

Wait, you can be black AND racist. Noooooooooooo.... Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are going to shoot you in the head with an assault rifle, then bash your tattered remains with their bibles! And then clean-up the scene with an abortion vacuum made by Chinese kids in an undocumented state-sponsored sweat shop, for some British-sounding doode named Dyson, run across the border (I mean imported) by future Americans in Mexico...

And if THAT doesn't piss you off.................

Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins, Redskins!!!!

We've heard about the "Southern Strategy" for 40+ years now, but I have yet to hear a media talking head discuss the Democratic Party's race baiting "Urban Strategy" even one time.
