When you think of Tea Party members you think of...

Quick poll to see what you guys think of people who identify themselves as members or supporters of the Tea Party.

I forgot to make this poll public, but consider it public because when I get a chance I'll likely change the setting in the db to do so.

OK poll is now officially public.

Tea partiers are so stubbornly stuck on principle that they have no social awareness whatseover to care if their stubbornness gets nothing done.

Liberals are so stuck on pandering that they get stuff done, even though there's no purposes to what gets done.

Neither side is effective. This party needs to find a conservative who knows how to pander just enough to get the right things done.

Most of us are apparently wrong. Kudos to those who picked "Slightly above average IQ" or "SUPER GENIOUSES".

Quote:
A finding in a study on the relationship between science literacy and political ideology surprised the Yale professor behind it: Tea party members know more science than non-tea partiers.

Yale law professor Dan Kahan posted on his blog this week that he analyzed the responses of more than 2,000 American adults recruited for another study and found that, on average, people who leaned liberal were more science literate than those who leaned conservative.

However, those who identified as part of the tea party movement were actually better versed in science than those who didnít, Kahan found. The findings met the conventional threshold of statistical significance, the professor said.

The best part for me was this...

I've got to confess, though, I found this result surprising. As I pushed the button to run the analysis on my computer, I fully expected I'd be shown a modest negative correlation between identifying with the Tea Party and science comprehension.

But then again, I don't know a single person who identifies with the Tea Party. All my impressions come from watching cable tv -- & I don't watch Fox News very often -- and reading the "paper" (New York Times daily, plus a variety of politics-focused internet sites like Huffington Post & Politico).

I'm a little embarrassed, but mainly I'm just glad that I no longer hold this particular mistaken view

The tea party is so stubborn that they celebrate losses where they got nothing done, yet stuck to principle. **** that. Try being this stubborn in the business world and see how far that takes you.
