When you think of Tea Party members you think of...

Quick poll to see what you guys think of people who identify themselves as members or supporters of the Tea Party.

I forgot to make this poll public, but consider it public because when I get a chance I'll likely change the setting in the db to do so.

OK poll is now officially public.

Voted slightly below to piss some people off

In reality, there is no way you can generalize. Ted Cruz is an intelligent man but also a very stupid man basing conclusions on his slanted views. He has a closed mind. Thats a tragedy for such an intelligent man.

I'm sure there are idiots in the Tea Party as there is in every political party. Same with caring intelligent people.

A recent study study by Yale shows that "Tea Party" members are smarter than Liberals. A liberal professor conducted the study.

Is that what you got from reading the article? You must have marked no to being a tea party member.

"Principles" for Rockerfeller, Carnegie, and J.P. Morgan helped them to "win" monopolies that exploited workers and robbed consumers. Even though each of them realized, ultimately, their own moral failings, and spent a lot of time, effort, and money trying to make amends and atone for their greed and transgressions, their excesses and abuses came at the expense of society.

Good thing we have someone to at least try to ensure that such "principles" are reined in sooner rather than later, today. Say what you will about the growth of big government, without it....men like those mentioned above would have destroyed the ambitions of the working and middle class.

Sure they did.

No, they don't. Do you think a vp could hold the budget hostage because he disagrees with his ceo? Do you think at vp would survive more than a month if he was so stubborn to listen to his leaders or even peers that he never once gave in to their demands?

Good business people know how to negotiate. They know how to convince people who wildly disagree with you to spree. And no business person would ever survive if they were so stubborn on principle that they demanded all or nothing.

It's sad that people are actually refusing to acknowledge how incompetent the right has been. Obama has been a doofus but we all know that. The right has been stupid too.

I've been to a couple tea party gatherings and judging from those and the ones I've met in person I'd have to say that the only way any of those folks would have seen the inside of a college is if they were changing the urinal cakes.

I assume they are some educated members somewhere but of the 50-60 I've met, the term knuckledragger comes to mind.

There are only two types of liberal - the evil that wants to rule over you and the intellectually incompetent that back them. For the tea party, its average people up to the most intelligent (which goes without saying), united for liberty, freedom, and basic human rights. Liberals claim those things but in reality, are the party of contradiction.

So, here on CP in DC....2 out of 3 folks say Tea Party types are, at best, average folks or dumber. Given the ideological bent of this joint, that says a lot. Heh.

I'm with Dave on this; my experience tells me some may be above average in intellect, but most are average or below in intellect--despite the "findings" of this one report by one Yale professor.
