We just flushed $24 BILLION. Does the Tea Party need to write the taxpayer a check?

The minority in the house. The "Tea Party" caucus wanted to pick a fight over Obamacare. Doesn't matter if it hurts Americans, the people they are suppose to represent. Doesn't matter if we don't pay our debts for the first time in the history of the Republic, Obamacare has to go.

Well they got their way. What did they get for this fight? Do they think or you that they and their opinions have swayed the independent voter?

We had two weeks of government workers not working. We paid them not to work. We took $24 BILLION from the economy. Self inflicted wound. Who pays? Who should pay?

OR you know, give in to the demand Republicans placed on funding the government.

Dems wants: Raise Debt ceiling, fund government.

Republicans wants: Raise Debt ceiling, fund government and all this other stuff we can't pass because we don't have the numbers.

There is only one party demanding something in exchange for funding the government.
Nope, that's what he said.

Dem wants: Spend more and more on government, fully fund the Obamacare catastrophe minus waivers and delays doled out for partisan advantage.

GOP wants: It doesn't matter what the GOP wants because Obama is threatening to **** the place up if he doesn't get his way.

Keep fing the chicken patty, anything but feathers left?

Don't like the way the country is going, win some elections and go about changing things through the proper legislation ways, don't attempt to use funding the government as leverage.

My advice to Republicans would be to continue to use whatever leverage you can to fight against the toxic policies of democrats and other progressives while striving to win as many elections as possible so that we can start undoing the damage that's already been done.

Our constitution was drawn up to do exactly that. Congress controls the purse strings for just that reason. Keep avoiding the truth and throwing around the nutjob label. Truth is, the house was doing exactly as they should to curb a president who is overreaching his power. The house was more in line with the law than the president by far. Since when is it okay for a president to rewrite a law that was already passed? And you call tea partiers extremists?

No.

Congress does not have complete control of the purse strings.

Our government works by having checks and balances.

Spending has to be approved by both the senate, the house, and the president.

Originating in the house does not mean complete control over everything fiscal.

So again, if you can't get the votes to pass your agenda, win some elections.

Refusing to pass a CR that doesn't cater to your agenda you cannot pass otherwise is not democracy.

, that's rich.

Kind of like passing a healthcare bill in the middle of the night without reading it, by bribing the politicians for votes and before losing control of the house( the one guy that wasn't sworn in until the next day and would have voted against it), using trickery and deceptive procedures outside of the proper way to pass legislation. Originating a spending bill in the senate instead of the house.

Yeah you libs are the model of following the proper legislation ways.

Dumb****.

If you can't get the votes to control the House, win some elections. Until then, you'll have to live with the fact that they have just as much influence over the budget as the Senate or the President. Threatening to cause a default unless the House gives you everything you want is no way to govern.

What special provision did Obama want?

Asking for a Clean CR is not demanding an agenda be attached to funding the government.

You aren't even trying anymore.

There is nothing special about a clean CR. Obama wanted and Obamacare despite it's unpopularity, the cluster**** it's rollout has become, and the inequality in the way it's being applied. The House wanted to get rid of it.

Want to get rid of Obamacare.

Write a bill that says "Obamacare is repealed" and pass it through both the senate, house, and the Presidents desk.

Its that easy.

Refusing to fund the government until that happens is a temper tantrum.
