So when do democrats think our debt becomes a problem?

I'd really like to have someone here explain to me how the current Obama/Democrat philosophy doesn't have us on the Greece track.

Recession recovery failure.
Failure at job growth.
Energy policy doomed to fail our economy.
Obamacare increasing the debt.
All time high for people getting food stamps.

It's becoming apparent the democrats entire goal is to get as many people on government assistance as possible. We all lose.

Not a repub here at all...but I find it laughable when these dipshit libtards bring up W when asked about the obvious criminal ineptitude of the Obummer Administration.

Like, if W and Cheney are guilty of war crimes, then Obama and Holder are guilty of treason.

Which is just dumb but they'll never concede that point.
Which is why House republicans refused to extend the payroll tax cut another year to stimulate the economy like Obama wanted, and only finally caved after the Senate left for recess and their constituents beat the hell out of them over it for a few days.

Wait what? That can't be right. Republicans are against taxes not for them. Better to just forget about this incident and continue to remember what feels right. Propaganda bubble take me away! A minority is abusing food stamps somewhere. Ahhhhhh, that's better.

In before "Well that funds social security something something". Bullshit. The federal government has been raiding Social Security like it's own personal piggy bank for decades. They can return the favor every now and then. Why not dial back QE2 a little and give the money straight to the middle class in the form of tax breaks?

Republicans argued vehemently for a tax increase because their sole purpose in life is to not let Obama win on anything. And most of you support them on that, even if it takes money out of your own pockets. Amazing.

We should've made the payroll tax cut permanent, and the economy would be doing a lot better right now. Why not give the money directly to the middle class who spend it all here – rather than only to the wealthy so they can invest more in China? Your party talks about middle-class tax cuts – but every package they've passed has thrown a bone to the middle class and drastically lowered taxes on the wealthy. Why not just push for a straight middle-class tax cut that offers nothing to the wealthy? Oh yeah big donors wouldn't like that very much.

I realize that one applies to dems as well. But please don't claim the moral high ground that republicans want to reduce my taxes. Like most of their "party of small business and the working man" bullshit – that's all talk.

The Dems wanted to keep the cut but make up for the lost Revenue with Tax increases on the Wealthy. The Reps wanted to keep it and make up for it with spending cuts Both of these dies in the Senate and the temporary reduction expired.

ok how about recent history...McConnell made sure he got his 2 bil before he caved. Neither party gives a crap about the debt. Name calling aside, Brock is absolutely right. Neither party cares until the other is in power.

Why do you go to bat for tax cuts for the wealthy but not the middle class? This makes zero sense to me.

We do also need to broaden our tax base. Unless you're going to DRAMATICALLY cut government programs, which there seems to be NO appetite for, then you can't just hit the "rich" for all the cost. They either can't afford it, or you'll break the economy even trying.

For what ever reason I can't seem to get that to open. In the spirit that is on constant display here, I am going to just take your word for it that, when push came to shove the Republicans were against it, after they were for it, after they were against it.

I’m one of those oddballs that do not think income should be exempt from after $105 K ish but, would combine that with a eliminating most all deductions and implementing a low flat tax rate where even the very poor had to contribute their share to the community pool.

So back to the topic at hand. Can anyone who considers their self Liberal answer, what dollar amount of Percent of the GNP our debt would need to reach before it is an issue as important as... say Health Care or National Defense?

Now, 5 Trillion ago, 5, 10, 15 trillion more?

Can a Republican prove wrong that the main reason of our current debt levels are Wars and Tax Cuts?

Also, of our Budget, a little less that 20 percent is Defense, another 20 percent is Healthcare, so by talking about and thinking Health Care and Defense is important, Dems are look at ways to decrease spending, since those two topics cover 40 percent of the budget.
