CNN Poll: 75% say most Republicans in Congress don't deserve re-election

I was assured "we the people" would blame both parties equally.

Formatting sucks, so I'm just posting the link.

All that means is that Republican voters are able to see the warts in their own party, vs the Hive that marches lockstep with the Democrats.

The Republicans are going to get annihilated in the elections if they actually think this is the problem.

But that's what the numbers have to be telling us. 1/2 the country thinks the Dems shouldn't be re-elected: what portion of them are Democrats? Probably close to zero. On the GOP side we can assume all Democrats think they shouldn't be re-elected which means about half of Republicans agree.

The thinkers vs the Hive. Prove me wrong with the data.

Indies, who generally swing elections, think the R's are doing a terrible job with the limited governing power they currently have. If I didn't like the implications of this poll, I'd be worried for next November (although a lot can change in 13 months).

The Hive at work:

With a Democratic president in office, Democrats currently favor one-party control over divided control by 40% to 14%, with 36% saying it makes no difference.

Republicans, on the other hand, currently believe that having different parties control the presidency and Congress is the better scenario: 19% favor one-party control and 37% favor divided control, with 33% saying it makes no difference.

I bet they do. But you'll have to show me that they approve of the Democrats.

Looks like you're right. Still not going to help close the party ID gap from the last election.

Also, more indies than ever are dissatisfied former R's.

If the Republican leadership let Romney be Romney from a policy perspective, he probably would have done extremely well with independents.

There is no downside for the Republicans with shutting down the government.
