I'm curious as to what the consensus among posters here is.

Should marijuana be made legal?

Some interesting stats regarding political parties and age brackets;

Yes.

Want a huge, ointment soaked band-aid on the national debt? Here it is.

Takes a huge chunk of money out of the hands of violent gangs.

Aids legit causes like cancer victims with no appetite and glaucoma patients.

No one has EVER went out and committed a heinous crime because they smoked to much herb.

Its a completely natural product that grows in the ground, not krokodil.

All it shows is that many people don't want to be associated with either party.

Agreed but that only proves my point this sample here isn't representative of Gallups findings.

I was being a smart ass when I posted this. The numbers actually were 2 and 1. The numbers are right now sitting at 13 and 6 with a lone R "no" vote. Interesting.

Withdrawals? He must have been a weak minded person. Weed is as addictive as chocolate. Yes you can get "addicted" to it, but it's not because weed itself is addictive.

Yup, you can get mentally addicted to almost anything you can make a habit.

You get your body use to doing something everyday, no matter what it is, and stopping can be difficult.

he is far from a weak minded person...he told me it was horrible. I was like since you quit and went through all of that why not just stop? Nah, he started right back up as soon as the drug test was over.

True with a caveat: some things can be physically addictive and are harder to wean from. It may begin by being emotionally attractive to forget pain, loss or lack of confidence but then the physical part becomes part of it. Of course it also depends on the substance plus each individual. Some have addictive personalities. Still, there can be a physical element in varying degrees of strength depending on the substance. So some are more difficult to get off of and some result in eventual death. Some result in the more you have, the more you want. This is even true of sugar. If you eat it enough, you want more. But sugar is more of a long-term health hazard leading to other diseases if too much is ingested.

Even alcohol depletes B vitamins as do some other drugs. The loss of nutrients over time can lead to more cravings for the addictive substance. For instance B vitamins are energy vitamins. If these get depleted one may crave drugs that provided energy or a high that makes them more hyper.
