WOW. I heard nothing but Bush-bashing for 8 years about how the US had become arrogant and didn't care about world opinion. Then I read this.

How disappointing it must be for the Obama fans......

...Finding out the Knight in shining armor you gladly allowed to sex your back side turned out to be a moron wrapped in tin foil.

Obama would screw up a 3 piece puzzle.

They wanted us to go all in on Syria, wanted us to back the Egyptian military more publicly, to bomb Iran. It's in their best interests for us to do their fighting for them. It would have been really stupid of us to do the Saudi Royals bidding.
I rarely agree with you on domestic issues but I agree with this above.

I would add, that since the corrupt Saudi royals don't really have a representative govt like ours, they would naturally blame a president as they are not used to the people speaking up against a military involvement. Our system places this in the hands of the people via their reps and they spoke loud and clear. The same thing has been repeated in polls about more war.

Furthermore, follow what's happening to DeMint over at Heritage where the NC faction of the GOP is going beserk at his being more restrained on another military involvement as well. The NCs are claiming it's a "conservative" position to bomb countries that are not a real threat, whereas DeMint is disagreeing. DeMint, of course is right that it isn't.

This one has nothing to do with Obama, the people spoke and a congressional election is coming up. People have heard Ron Paul. Ideas are powerful. Wonder what one-party rule would have done.

On this part:

OPEC had to eventually lower its oil prices after their embargo in the 1970's because of competition. The auto industry made smaller more fuel efficient cars and other sources became available.

So you're right in that they still need customers. Fuel costs soared when the Iraq debacle happened. It would likely happen again with two more wars over there. Global markets get shaken when supplies are threatened even if not our direct supplier because others have to find other sources too if they can't get any from their supplier.

The title of the article is very misleading. When I saw it the first thing that came to mind is- Don't we still have bases in SA? How exactly would that work, no diplomatic ties but we are going to keep our bases operational? Without our backing, wouldn't the House of Saud be in deep crap in the region, payback time in a sense?

WOW are you this stupid or just lived in the bubble so long you have no clue what goes on outside that bubble?

Do you not understand there is a difference from being an agressive cowboy and not allowing other countries to dictate policy to you?
