Obviously it is too complicated for you. All it does is lessen the degree of decreased demand.

If I was making $1k a week and I lost my job and I now collect $300 a week in unemployment I am not injecting demand into the economy via my unemployment. I am just cushioning the decrease in demand by $300.

JFC, does math just fail in the liberal brain or what?

JFC...Considering that unemployment is seldom received the day after employment ends, it likely is injecting demand.

However, if you want to pitch a fit because she used the wrong word, that is typical moronic right-wing nitpicking. The main idea behind the statement is that it is a benefit to the economy, and even "lessening the degree of decreased demand" would qualify.

Unemployment usually starts 3 weeks after your employment ends.

And you are still failing to see the forest through the trees which most libs seem to do.

If I was injecting $1k a week into the economy and producing a product or providing a service and now I am injecting $300 a week and sitting on my ass I am not injecting any demand. I am doing nothing more than offsetting what would be $1k by $300. Thus it is a net-net -$700 - service provided or product produced.

Do you get that, cosmo? Can you wrap your head around that or is it to large of a picture for you to grasp?

Being on unemployment isn't creating any jobs. If anything being on unemployment is reducing the amount of "demand" I was injecting prior to being unemployed.

Get it? Less is going in that what was before. That means there is no demand being created. It does nothing more than keep demand from going to 0.

If I was spending a $1000 a week at various businesses and now I am only spending $300 a week at the grocery store and gas station I am not creating any jobs, contrary to what economic wizards such as Pelosi and yourself seem to think.

Keep moving the goal posts, dickhead. It has benefit to the economy like a band-aid has to a gunshot wound. You really suck at this whole economy thing.

One could make a good moral case for unemployment benefits, and society certainly supports the idea. But doing so on economic growth grounds is something so stupid only a liberal could fall for it. You're merely shifting money away from productive uses to consumptive ones and taken to its extreme, no economy grows without producers.

Since we borrowed anyway to make these payments, we are incurring interest costs on top of it all. Net: pelosi is a quack

You should really love this delusional quote

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/1...are-99102.html

As Obamacare continues to come under bipartisan attack, Nancy Pelosi offered a full-throated praise of the law, saying she wished it would’ve gone further.

The House minority leader, speaking to reporters Wednesday morning, said she wants to “say every chance I get how proud we are of” Obamacare.

“It was a heavy lift to pass,” Pelosi said of the 2010 law, which she helped write and shepherd through the House. “I myself would’ve preferred single payer or public option, but this was a compromise, this is a compromise. But it does many of the things that we would’ve done under a public option. So we have a plan that is named affordable. That’s a very important word. Affordable. Because no matter what people say about whether they like their plan or not, their plan was not going to be their plan. Everybody’s premiums were going up.”
