Chiefs might face QB Jeff Tuel Sunday.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 52s
Jeff Tuel will start at QB tomorrow for the Bills against the Chiefs. Matt Flynn is the No. 2. Thad Lewis is doubtful

Their DL versus our OL is the only part of this game that worries me.

We should just take all the 7-step drops out of our gameplan. Oh wait, we did that when we made the trade for Alex Smith.

That's been a problem just about every week.

Why worry about it now?

The luck you guys have with opposing QBs you face is stunning right now... KC has to win this one, especially for all those seeking waves of respect.

It's crazy. But we face good QBs the rest of the year

I can understand not sending the house because you really have no idea what you're getting yourselves into with a rookie. The problem was, we were getting absolutely no pressure AND we were having issues covering down field because of it. We were consistently giving up big plays in the passing game because.. we were afraid to give up the big play by blitzing?

After the second or third 40+ yard pass I thought we should have brought some more guys to get pressure. I was pleased that we eventually did that in the 2nd half; just a bit annoyed that we didn't adjust sooner.
Sutton talked about the first half being on him. He was calling coverages that we never run and toying around to see what their noob QB could identify. He also said and gave the kid credit for knowing the best way to go after the formations we were in during the 1st half.

He also said that he quit testing his ability to spot our packages in the 2nd half and started calling our defensive formations we more regularly run and mixed in some more pressure but any blitzes we ran were all plays we've shown and used in games previously this year.

Hey if he wants to show more stuff for upcoming teams to have to study up on that just increases the looks they have to devote time to, and he's holding back some of our looks using the blitz, that's his prerogative- so long as it doesn't cost us a game.

Once we got back to playing our normal scheme if I'm not mistaken I believe in the 4th quarter we ended up having 4 or 5 sacks, forced a turnover, and their offense had a total of -1 yards. Not a terrible way to shut them down to end the game.

It seems like the NFL did all it could to help KC this year.

Easy schedule, long home stands, most division games late in the year (after a new GM/HC/DC/OC/QB have gotten on the same page), and even playing our strongest opponents at home.

Hey, it's about time we got a break...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yeah, you can't do anything about the injury bug... it's a nice thing to fall your way, but things will tighten up a bit. It's going to be a fun and likely very intense race to the division title.

Oh please. The NFL had no idea Schaub would shit the bed, Manuel would get hurt, locker would get hurt. Before the season, looking at our schedule it looked fairly tough. No one thought the GMen would be 2-6.

But please by all means, ignore Denver's schedule.

It is. Especially since last year everything that could go wrong did.
