No partisan primaries. Top two vote getters square off in the general election.

Our local mayoral race was run like this. Republicans, Democrats, Independents were all on the ballot together. The top two vote getters face off in the general election tomorrow.

Did some research and it looks like its an idea thats being tried in a lot of states. I can see alot of good coming out of this type of approach?

What say you?

second problem-is it a way to squeeze out a particular party? I don't know.

Curious; have you vote for Republicans much?

I voted for Janet Napolitano...twice as governor of Arizona. Decent governor turned shill for Obama.

I'd be happy to vote for someone from any party if they were right on the issues and decent people. Having said that, I gave up voting for democrats a long time ago. The only exception is when I know them personally and then it's a close call.

I said party line voters shouldn't be advocating for less partisanship. Its a rather simple statement even someone like you could follow. Not sure why this is so confusing for you.

Voting Democrat is a hard sell out here in Kalifornia. Too many horrible candidates. I have voted for Dems locally though when I believe that they are the best option.

I voted for one locally in the last election. I know her and she's a good person. There are plenty of things I don't agree with her on, but she won't have anything to do with those in her new position and the Republican candidate seemed to have significant character issues.

It took three days to determine a winner in the MPLS mayoral election.

It does not matter here who one, but that is about the same time it took in 1889.
