Interesting…what if docs don't come to play?

I know Obamas answer…Force them to or lose their license or some shit. Maybe tax em.

An estimated seven out of every 10 physicians in deep-blue California are rebelling against the state’s Obamacare health insurance exchange and won’t participate, the head of the state’s largest medical association said.

“It doesn’t surprise me that there’s a high rate of nonparticipation,” said Dr. Richard Thorp, president of the California Medical Association.

Thorp has been a primary care doctor for 38 years in a small town 90 miles north of Sacramento. The CMA represents 38,000 of the roughly 104,000 doctors in California.

“We need some recognition that we’re doing a service to the community. But we can’t do it for free. And we can’t do it at a loss. No other business would do that,” he said.

California offers one of the lowest government reimbursement rates in the country — 30 percent lower than federalMedicare payments. And reimbursement rates for some procedures are even lower.

Is anyone under the impression that Obama and the Democrats actually want medicine and health care to be run as a business?

No they don't. This is just another way to try to get handouts, or entitlements for their idiot voters. The ACA isn't about healthcare at all, it's just another form of government control is all it is, but unfortunately the middle class is going to pay for the bulk of the costs. This will only create more poor people dependent on government handouts in the long run.

At the very least, lots of boomer doctors or almost boomers still practicing, who have a choice to cooperate or enjoy an early retirement. I will be very curious to see how supply of doctors will be affected. I am guessing it's not going to end well.

There already is a shortage even if they don't retire. But many have claimed they will be retiring. So when the demand is upped and the supply is down---OUCH!

My primary care Dr. used to run his patients in & out as quick as possible.

He joined a MDVIP program so now he only takes 400 patients a year but he can now spend at least a half hour with each one. Also as a patient I have to pay $1600 a year. He's a great Dr. & we don't mind paying the extra. I'm investing in myself. Lately he's been using the 30 minutes to ride my ass into losing weight. He seen the writing on the wall with AllEarsCare & when you get him to talk about it you better wear a spit shield cause he gets' pretty wound up.

I used to see my physiatrist, rehab & pain Dr. every month as well. I needed to get in to see him for some issues & it was a 2 month out wait whereas 2 years ago they'd get me in before the end of the week.

My wife's going on her 20th year @ the local hospital & she's a semester away from her bachelors (works full time to support me) degree in hospital administration. We/she doesn't know what she's in for.

My uncle is a doc and one of the heads of Kaiser's technology departments, the Kaiser Permanente website was done by his team way back in the mid-90s, he is considering ending his practice and just becoming a consultant for companies that are doing health related technology.
