Do you think we have a crisis with income equality and/or economic mobility?

Both are currently at all time lows.

Do you believe we have a severe problem on this front, and what specifically do you believe is the solution to rectifying it?

I look forward to an illuminating thread.

You forgot taxes that get taken out. So disposable income or take home pay is what matters.

My parents made around that growing up (65k). Perhaps even slightly less. We were comfortable if never affluent.

Have already done so with you...but you never see it.

I said why in many other posts with you BUT it never goes in because YOU ignore it. So why waste more time. It's like talking to concrete.

I have many times. You believe regulation = magic.

Pot calling kettle.
Pot calling Kettle isn't a rebuttal to my showing how you are wrong BEP.

And I can actually articulate my views on the economy, unlike you, so your pot calling kettle doesn't even make sense.

But then again, that's why I call you stupid person who has no idea what the word means and just throws it around so you don't actually have to think.

Come BEP, explain yourself. How is the FED responsible for income inequality?

You aren't scared of me, again, showing how wrong you are, are you?

Well, yeah but technically then your solutions would be fascism. But you gripe about that too.

BTW Sweden gets called a socialist country, but they use wealth transfers as we do.

Any transfer of wealth, despite keeping ownership in private hands, and which uses the idea of social justice and egalitarianism is still under the category of socialism. It's also covered it a book titled Socialism by the economist Mises. So it's not just me.

I call you a commie because your sense of property is communistic and you feel compelled to use govt to force businesses to pay a certain wage to lift others up. You support an income tax and rely on class warfare type arguments in support of redistribution.

So the shoe fits. You'll have to wear it.

Oh I do. You just want to hide behind false labels.

It was explained at least twice in other threads where I made the statement. Like I said, you are the pot calling the kettle black when you cry "stupid" because you still haven't gotten it and/or have ignored it. Hence, the "whoosh" over your head videos. Not going to explain it all again just to have you post the same crap toward it again.

I'm not wrong. You're a waste of time. See my comments just above this.

Oh, and this still applies.

So what you are saying is you still have no clue what communism means and you also don't know what socialism means, since you seem to think those two are the same thing.

And it really looks like I am wasting your time while you rant about what you, wrongly, think communism means while refusing to articulate your actual position.

Minus about a quarter of that on taxes. $3,750.
Minus about 500 on insurance, if you're lucky. $3,250.
Minus about 2,000 on your mortgage payment, for a small house on the east or west coast - again, if you're lucky. $1,250.
Minus two small car payments at 250 each. $750.
Minus about 150 for car insurance. $600.
Minus utilities, 200 if you skimp. $400.
Minus gas, let's say a gallon a day per car, three bucks per gallon, $130. $270 left for food.

I hope you don't have any old clothes, hopes for vacation, legal bills, medical bills, speeding tickets, home repairs, car repairs, or children.

Economic mobility is a huge problem.

Both the public and private sector are to blame for that.

With all the regulations, protectionist policies, ideas about tenure, difficulty firing incompetent workers... when people don't leave jobs, then people underneath them don't have opportunities to take those spots away from them.

On the other hand... there is simply no excuse for executive comp to go up when the economy is in a recession. Instead of investing in more jobs, they are demanding that the same workers work more hours. Instead of investing in training their workers to become more mobile or in plants, R&D, or research centers that can create good jobs, they are padding their own pockets. That's called opportunity cost.

Liberals refuse to admit that over-regulation and over-protection are killing mobility, and conservatives refuse to admit that the 1% is a big part of the problem too.
