An interesting hole in evolutionary theory (as we understand it)

I came across this in my travels tonight, and thought it might make for an eye-brow raiser...

The long and short of it - some researchers decided to reverse apply Moore's Law to human biology. Using their Moore's Law-based computations, they first applied it to modern computers, and came up with the right answer - that microchips showed up right around the 1960's.

They then took the same computations and applied it to biological complexity (which, of course, humans are the pinnacle of as we know it). The results suggest that life began 5 billion years before the Earth even existed...

What it really means, who knows... The researchers who ran the computations refused to call it a theory and instead label it a "thought excersize" (the cowards!). In any case, it's pretty damned interesting.

The article can be read here:

Though it is humanly impossible to try and understanding how an intelligent creator may have came into existence, it's almost just as difficult for me to deny the reality of intelligent design and order found among everything we know exists.

Just a little example using DNA to store digital memory

How can the mind dismiss something that's seemingly so complex and amazingly designed, as coming into existence simply by chance, chaos or accident?

OK, lets say by some miracle you have all the ingredients needed just laying around to make something as complex, how does it come together perfectly?
For example, I can take my classic Camaro completely apart and lay it all on the floor in my sealed shop and I promise you, you can come back in 1, 10, 100, 1000 years and you would still not find a car there.

So for me, I cannot comprehend how a creator would have came about but I cannot deny the existence of intelligent design.

Some more of my favorite quotes from Neil DeGrasse Tyson:

"Does it mean, if you donít understand something, and the community of physicists donít understand it, that means God did it? Is that how you want to play this game? Because if it is, hereís a list of things in the past that the physicists at the time didnít understand [and now we do understand] [...]. If thatís how you want to invoke your evidence for God, then God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance thatís getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time moves on - so just be ready for that to happen, if thatís how you want to come at the problem."

"People cited violation of the First Amendment when a New Jersey schoolteacher asserted that evolution and the Big Bang are not scientific and that Noah's ark carried dinosaurs. This case is not about the need to separate church and state; it's about the need to separate ignorant, scientifically illiterate people from the ranks of teachers."

if anything that ever existed was divinely constructed, it is blatantly obvious that we are inherently programmed to try to learn, advance, and understand it. this is our playground. narrow-minded individuals on every side engaged in idiotic conflict interfere.

Considering the genetic diseases and conditions in just the human genome. If there was a creator, they did a piss poor job.

Also, that Camaro has no forces acting upon it while an animal does.

I think that's a pretty silly thing to worry about in the 21st century.

I'm not so sure.

The gaps that god resides in shrank more in the 20th century than the previous 1800 years.

Perhaps there is a 'grand mover'. If so, science will find it. That's why it's neat.
