Are you proud of your country

and if so why?

No political agenda here (I swear).

FTR, I am by no means saying I am not.

Yes, if "when it suits you" means when it's meaningful instead of petty.

You'd have to define what you mean by neoconservatism for me before I could answer that.

Amerikans, including some on the right, have become hopelessly statist too.

It's always we should have another govt solution, for private problems, which involves spending more money instead of taking any responsibility to shape one's own life. Whether it's education ( that never seems to improve despite the funds tossed at it ), day care or whatever. So more and more the state raises children when it's the job of the parent who should stay home and make the sacrifices instead of plundering others. People didn't think like this this much before.
Few even know our Founding principles (some despise them), sound economics and believe authorities even when they're blathering idiocies.

I'm immensely proud of our country. I'm not always proud of the people running the government, but the nation itself is without peer.

I'm always proud of this country. We are the most successful political experiment that the world has ever seen. I am not always proud of the people that live here, or the politicians that we elect. I am not always proud of the actions we take, or the effects of those actions. I am, however, proud of our foundation and I believe that we are at our best when we honor it.

Don't confuse political discourse or argument with party behavior. They call for different behaviors and different kinds of conversations. I assure you I know how to act in different scenes. This is a political forum....you need to remember that.

Oh quit putting your head in the sand! This isn't the 1980's. I intentionally mispelled it because that's how we're evolving. Into a Euro-socialism along with the evisceration of the 4th amendment--which you support.
