Al Gore predicts the North Pole will be ice-free in 5 years

Well actually, he said that 5 years ago today.

http://pjmedia.com/eddriscoll/2013/1...tdown-expires/

Jim Hoft notes it was on yesterday’s date in 2008 that “Al Gore predicted the North Polar Ice Cap would be completely ice free in five years. Gore made the prediction to a German audience in 2008. He told them that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.”

The YouTube clip of the Goracle’s prediction that Jim linked to in 2008 appears to have gone down the memory hole, but poking around the Interwebs, I found this, which looks to be from the same event:

[Follow the link to see a video clip of Al Gore on 12/12/2008 saying, "The entire north polar ice cap may be completely gone in five years"]

In any case, as Jim notes, Gore’s been forecasting this moment since 2007, and his post yesterday included a clip of Gore making an identical prophesy in 2009.

Kate of Canada’s Small Dead Animals blog apologizes to Cairo for having to bear the brunt of the Al Gore Effect yesterday:

[Follow the link to see a video clip of snow in Cairo]

Big Oil-funded Al Jazeera should have known this would happen to the Middle East when they hopped into the same tent with Gore last year.

And ad this to the latest example of yet another not-so-final countdown passing without incident.

And the same prediction from 2009:

Former Vice President Al Gore references computer modeling to suggest that the north polar ice cap may lose virtually all of its ice within the next seven years. “Some of the models suggest that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during some of the summer months, could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years,” says Gore.

I sure did. My middle school teachers were nutty about CFCs. One girl had a small can of aqua net confiscated from her by a teacher because it contained CFCs.

That type of crap makes the rest of us look bad.

How about explain-CFC's are believed to destroy Ozone. Maybe when this can is done, find something else that is better. Look up the evidence both ways AND MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION.

But to confiscate it to satisfy your own beliefs? WRONG!!!!!

Educate, teach the facts.

A. We were told the Earth could be going into a mini ice age. I don't remember pollution being the cause.

Maybe the sun has a little to do with the heat of the Earth

This should be sufficient evidence for Al Gore to be placed in a mental institution.

Awww. That's heartless. We should let him hang out on a corner with a cardboard sign. Then he could still take donations.

I think prison is more suitable. He knew exactly what he was doing. He chose to propagate this fraud in the hopes of making enormous amounts of money. If Congress had passed Cap and Trade, he and his partners would have been the richest people on the the planet. The Chicago Carbon Exchange was already set up ready to handle all carbon credit transactions. They would purchase unused credits from businesses and sell them to expanding businesses for thousands on the dollar.
Perhaps the biggest crook in US political history.

It is interesting, the way it is said that the caps have been melting on both caps for the last forty years you would figure sea/ocean level would be up? I mean, if half of all of it melted?

Yes our pollution is bad, but it seems volcanoes do much more to effect climate change, take mt. saint helen when it blew, from reports I have read temperature dropped a couple degrees for a few years.
