What Would RealisticallyHappen If a Nuke Was Detonated?

Ok, so serious question to get your opinions.

What would happen, in your opinion, if a country detonated a nuke against another country? I’m sure it might depend on who’s involved, but let’s say Iran drops one on Israel; Pakistan, or India etc.

Or, if somehow a small one was detonated by terrorists inside our own country, Canada, or the UK?

What would the fallout (see what I did there) be?

That's funny. In elementary school in Texas, I think it was third grade, we had an assignment to break into groups and debate. There were (IIRC) six kids in each group. We were supposed to come up with a question, decide between two answers, then split into groups of three and debate in front of the class, at a small round table. The teacher would take notes and create diagrams based on the flow of the conversation.

I distinctly remember being frustrated in our group because I was annoyed at the nature of the questions that the other kids were suggesting. I argued with the other five and they prodded me into suggesting something more meaningful, so I suggested that we debate whether the world would end due to natural forces or if we would destroy it first in a giant nuclear Armageddon scenario.

We ended up doing that and it caused quite a stir in the classroom and upset the teacher. I remember seeing the chart and I had dominated the conversation with doom and gloom. I had argued that we were going to destroy all life on the planet. That nuclear confrontation was inevitable, that even if the US and USSR somehow avoided doing it that we were beyond the point of no return and that it would eventually happen. The genie was out of the bottle. I was eight years old. This was 1975. Good times being an aspiring real life troll.

I bet your parents were good ones.

My sons teachers swore up and down between 3rd and 6th grade he needed it, called three to four meetings about it and convinced the ex and I that drugs were the answer, much to our shame we relented at 12 years of age.

A month later we didn't recognize our son at all, the change was profound and scared the shit out of us.

We stopped that crap but. quick.

Don't want a hyperinquisitive little bundle of energy on your hands? Then do your ****ing job and engage him... turns out he became a successful Marine and his band is now signed to a record deal, his drugged up, lazy, probably having fantasies about high school boys, teachers didn't know shit... go figure.

To the credit of the educators at the time, they told my mother that if the pill didn't work I wasn't hyperactive, just smart and energetic. She responded by attempting to keep me fed with reading material. Poor thing.
