What Would RealisticallyHappen If a Nuke Was Detonated?

Ok, so serious question to get your opinions.

What would happen, in your opinion, if a country detonated a nuke against another country? I’m sure it might depend on who’s involved, but let’s say Iran drops one on Israel; Pakistan, or India etc.

Or, if somehow a small one was detonated by terrorists inside our own country, Canada, or the UK?

What would the fallout (see what I did there) be?

Third grade? Christ, my debates back then centered over which was better of Scooby Doo or Speed Racer.

From memory, the geeks would fire the rockets off just before detonation and would somehow measure the pressures by the way the smoke was displaced, since they couldn't build a pressure sensor which would survive at GZ.

When I was young, probably 1st or 2nd grade, my dad would often discuss nuclear war with me, or around me. He worked for the GSA at the old Bendix/Honeywell complex on Bannister, and (though I might be a little foggy on this) thought that place would be a target.
Few things really stuck with me more than those discussions, and the fear I grew up with about that stuff. Several years later, I saw some Nostradamus special (this was before the History channel and their love of all things Nostradamus), where they said he predicted nuclear war would happen in 1992.
I bought it hook, line, and sinker, and spent that year in a lot of fear. Lol

It was scary man. Especially living in the KC area and being relatively close to Lawrence. I was eight years old when I watched it on TV. I still remember the flashing skeletons and stuff.

I laughed at it and eventually turned the channel. It thought it was pretty corny.

Are we sure the target isn't actually Pete Franklin?

I think the Tsar Bomba when tested only had one stage active of three that the design could employ, IIRC
