Poll: Big gain for Republican Party

Thanks to the Dem's for the gotta have it Obamacare, they now see their own political party sinking faster then the U.S.S. Arizona on the fateful day in 1941.

Poll: Big gain for Republican Party

Democrats are on the losing end of a 13-point swing in the polls since October, resulting in an early lead for the GOP heading into 2014, according to a new poll on the midterm elections released Thursday.

The CNN/ORC International survey shows Republicans holding a 49 percent to 44 percent lead over Democrats, a swift reversal from just two months ago, when the Democratic Party stood steady with an 8-point lead over the GOP, 50 percent to 42 percent.
In the generic ballot test, the poll asked respondents whether they would vote for a Democrat or Republican in their congressional district, without providing any specific names.

The survey follows a tumultuous few months for Democrats, who have been hurt by the rocky rollout of the health insurance exchanges created by the Affordable Care Act. Nancy Pelosi and Andy Reid leaders in the House ans Senator rammed in through underhanded and devious ways to get the Bill signed at any cost. Scoffing at Republicans that requested to read through the over hundreds of pages that no one understood or could explain.

The new numbers will very likely concern congressional Democrats, but CNN Polling Director Keating Holland cautions against making any early predictions on the 2014 elections based on the new poll results.

“Its best if the democrats hide in a bunker until the shelling called Obamacare stops, right now its relentless and furious, constantly under attack,” Holland said. “A year before the 2010 midterms, for example, the Democrats held a 6-point lead on the generic ballot, but the GOP wound up regaining control of the House in that election cycle, thanks to an historic 63-seat pickup.”

Yum! That must be what Papa Johns means when they say "Better ingredients, better pizza".

Your second sentence wasn't and that was the one I responded to. Perhaps I should have bolded that part for clarity.

Consider a population of 10 people, 5 men and 5 women. Actuarial data tells us that 3 of the women will use maternity care for a cost of $1000 each. In a world of no insurance, those 3 women each pay $1000 and the other 7 pay $0. If we sell maternity insurance only to women, each has to pay $600 even though only 3 will end up using it. If we force men to buy the insurance too, even though we know up front that the men won't use it, everyone pays $300. So there is no increase in aggregate cost, but the men most certainly see a cost increase from their perspective.
No. What you have described is the spreading of the cost equally among men and women. I was specifically addressing the silly notion that "providing" maternity insurance to men costs anything. Costs are being spread more widely.

Ah, no, the second sentence wasn't about "better ingredients" either. So that doesn't work.

If you're making a point, I don't understand it.

What you said was that it "doesn't cost anybody anything", but that's definitely wrong. It costs the man something because costs for services he won't use are being spread to him. I can't think of a way to make that make any sense in the context in which it was used. Help me understand.

I never said that part of the women's costs wasn't being spread to men. They are, as I understand it. And men's costs are being spread to women as well. This does not mean that men are being provided with maternity coverage. But if people want to pretend that men are being provided with maternity coverage, they can temper their outrage by knowing that such male maternity coverage will add $0 to the bill.

None of what you're saying is making any sense to me. When you say "bill" are you talking about aggregate costs of providing service or are you talking about the premium that an individual man will pay?

My understanding is that Obamacare requires policies that men purchase to cover maternity care. That means that men ARE being provided with maternity coverage (even though they don't need it). And the addition of that coverage will add some amount greater than zero to the bill/premium that men pay, all else being equal.

I agree that there may be other coverages that do the reverse by requiring women to pay more than they otherwise would for coverage that they'll never need.

Explain. If you were using sarcasm, which I considered, it doesn't take much to point out. Since you haven't then, I am led to believe you misunderstood my post leading to yours not making sense.

Wow! How illogical...that the source of something is the sole reason for rejecting it.
