Here's the number of people who've lost their coverage due to the ACA.

The GOP has been reiterating 5 million Americans will lose their healthcare coverage thanks to Obamacare, based on a figure of 4.7 million.

Turns out, the actual number is 10,000 in 18 counties. In a nation of 300 million+ and over 3,000 counties.

Of the 4.7 million the GOP has claimed will lose coverage, half can renew their 2013 plans thanks to an adjustment made by the Obama administration, another 1.5 million have access to tax credits and Medicaid, and everybody else will have access to an affordable plan where they live -- except for 10,000 people.

That's not good information for those 10,000 people, and adjustments should be made to provide some options for those people. And all behemoths like the ACA have some collateral damage, but again, something should be done to provide these folks options.

But a plan designed to insure 30 million people over ten years and bend the cost curve of health coverage has a much smaller imprint (about 500 times smaller) than many of the detractors of the ACA.

10,000. Those are the people whose cancellation notices truly left them in the cold under the ACA. 99% otherwise have ample options.

If we're arguing that 500 x's more people are losing coverage because of the ACA than there actually are, then that's not.

Sure it is. If the architect and namesake of this abortion can lie about, what makes you think that some dork congressman can't?

You might want to explain to everyone what the 'fix' is.

And how many of those who are are going to be blessed by Obamacare to re-sign up for health insurance taken away by Obamacare's minimum standards are going to be paying MORE than they were before?

The architect of the ACA is actually Max Baucus, but I follow you.

I'm dead serious, though. You can have at with the "Waxman isn't trustworthy on this issue, therefore no support provided to buttress his points can be accepted as valid" line of argument.

I really don't need much help to eviscerate Obamacare, but thanks for the suggestion.

No, but he rubs his balls. I was invited to watch one night at a $5000 fund raiser. I declined. I don't need to see another man rubbing D's balls.

even if we take this as 'keeping their plans' and not re-enrolling for the same plan they were dropped from, doesn't this mean that 2.35 million DID lose their coverage?

It's actually in the link.

Quote:
On November 14, 2013, the Department of Health and Human Services announced a transitional policy that allows individuals who received cancellation notices to renew their 2013 coverage throughout 2014. The policy gave states the authority to determine whether to allow insurers to renew non-ACA compliant 2013 policies for existing policyholders. Under this policy, thirty seven states have elected to allow renewal of 2013 policies. Of the 4.7 million individuals reportedly receiving insurance cancellations letters, 2.85 million live in states that elected to adopt the Administration’s transitional policy to allow insurers to extend 2013 policies through 2014.
But, like Donger said, this is probably all a hoax perpetrated by the Democratic Dream Machine.
