It always amuses me how defensive pot supporters get about the topic. It's like somebody just insulted Detox' mother. It's almost sad to watch really.

defensive?

I merely pointed out how ignorant that comment was. There is nothing defensive about it.

You pulled that comment out of your ass. Period. I don't care how you wanna try to defend it. It's a bullshit comment that couldn't be any more wrong.

The fact that you think that should immediately disqualify you from any serious discussion on the issue.

I understand that you may not LIKE it, and that's fine. But it's painfully obvious that you are not well educated on its effects, especially in comparison to alcohol, therefore any hard stance you take on the subject will fall on deaf ears.

There are tons of people on the forum who don't like MJ but at least they understand its effects enough to not spout ignorant, baseless comments.

THAT i can respect.

I can't respect nonsense though.

When you come into an argument with such well-informed and reasonable statements like these; you aren't the least bit surprised you receive backlash from recreational pot users?

The defensiveness is surpassing even what I've come to expect from them, and I know how defensive these critters get about their dope. As I noted, it's not really an issue that I care much about but your reactions are priceless.

It is worth noting that "ignorance" is laughable. As if in all my (or HCF) years I have never encountered pot users. Nah, never have. No real basis whatsoever for forming my opinion. I should just trust Internet tools named Pablo and (aptly named) Detoxing for my views. They know all.

I'm curious about what you mean when you talk about using a substance (pot or alcohol) responsibly. Is it not responsible use if a sick person in a medical marijuana state uses pot under the supervision of a doctor in the comfort of her own home to maintain her appetite or reduce the nausea effects of her other medications? What constitutes responsible use?

Piggybacking on pat's question, how is it possible to use alcohol responsibly but not weed?

To be fair, your posts on this forum suggest you are neither intelligent or reasonable. Perhaps you should trust me to form your view point on this matter.

It isn't.

I'm going to assume that any time PB or HCF drink; they do so in such an irresponsible manner than they endanger the public, family, friends, and their career.

Seems fair enough.

My opinion is that pot users often deny or at least understate the potential for negative impacts of pot smoking, but it's ridiculous to say that it can't be used responsibly just like it would be to say that about alcohol, coffee or cigars.

We're now at the point where pot use is being compared to coffee and cigars. This might be a new all-time low on the DC board.

Again with the defensive crap? Sigh. Whatever.

Your posts come off far more defensive than mine.

I understand you THINK you know what you're talking about and that's fine. Whatever works for you, man. It doesn't really matter what you think. The majority aren't oblivious to it the way you are and that trend will only continue to climb.

As far as you encountering a pothead in life...that means nothing. Really. It means nothing.

My dad was a heavy alcoholic his entire life. Doesn't mean i think alcohol is the devil and can't be enjoyed responsibly. I honestly wish he coulda just been a pothead. I might've had a decent childhood.

The differences alcohol and weed have on the brain are staggering. Again, if you want to dislike MJ, that's fine. There are plenty of reasons to not like it.

But at the very least do yourself a favor and understand the effects it actually has on a person. Not this preconceived tripe. Spouting that crap doesn't help anyone and it's how we got into this situation in the first place.

As someone who's used both alcohol and weed, it's absolutely mind boggling how someone can have an opinion like yours and say it with any sort of conviction.

I mean....you can scream it at the top of a mountain but it won't make it right.
