<--- Not a fan. I'll vote for him if he's nominated and I'm not as negative toward him as I am toward John McCain, but I can think of several likely GOP candidates I'd vote for over him. Rand Paul is probably the only guy in that group I'd definitely prefer Christie over because of Paul's foreign policy views.

Who here (other than patteu who I'm convinced is on someone's payroll) supported Romney well before the repub primaries? Hell even during the primaries how many on here supported Romney?

Most of this forum is in the 5-10% most right-wing fringe (you don't realize this because you're buried in the bubble, but you are). You guys are never going to support a candidate with a chance to win until he becomes the nominee. Then you will hold your nose and vote for him.

I like Romney still. He is a genuine good person. Not sure what that has to do with my original question or why you even give a damn.

Christie seems to be reasonably moderate and I'd support him over some nutbag social conservative.

I've been a Romney fan for over 5 years. He has a resume of experience in both business and government that nobody else even came close to, and I thought he would be by far the most COMPETENT President we've had in a long time. Maybe not charismatic, and maybe not inspiring, but definitely competent, definitely intelligent, and definitely able to lead.

I was extremely disappointed when John McCain won the nomination over him in 2008, and I was even more disappointed when McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate instead of Romney. I've always thought the McCain/Romney ticket would have beat the Obama/Biden ticket in 2008. I strongly supported Romney from the very beginning, long before the Republican primaries in 2008 and again in 2012. I was bothered by the fact that he had to pretend to be a right-winger in order to win the nomination. I think if he had been able run as himself his chances of winning the general election would have been a hell of a lot better.

I assume you are asking the question because you are curious if Romney supporters are also Chris Christie supporters. In my case, the answer is "yes".

Or perhaps I should say that I was a Chris Christie supporter. I thought he was a pragmatist who would always speak his mind and do the right thing, and he was far enough to the middle to appease a moderate such as myself.

I'm no longer on the Chris Christie bandwagon. This whole fiasco has forced me to look at Christie in a completely different way. I often get pissed at the arrogance of the Obama administration, Obama's insistence that HE knows what's best for everyone, and the heavy-handed tactics the Obama administration has used to impose its will upon everyone.

After this, I don't really see how Chris Christie would be any different. He is either an arrogant asshole who is drunk with the power he has, or he is an incompetent fool who has no idea what his highest-ranking staffers are doing.

Either way, he doesn't look very Presidential right now. I hope he either chooses not to run or he gets knocked out very quickly. I will not vote for him.

So far the pro Christie crowd is amazingly quiet.
