Execution date set for Michael Taylor

http://www.kansascity.com/2014/01/24...or-killer.html

Execution date of Feb. 26 is set for man sentenced in killing of Ann Harrison
January 24
By TONY RIZZO
The Kansas City Star

The Missouri Supreme Court on Friday set a Feb. 26 execution date for one of two men convicted in the 1989 murder of a Kansas City teenager.

Michael A. Taylor was sentenced to death for the killing of 15-year-old Ann Harrison, who was waiting for a school bus in front of her southeast Kansas City home when she was kidnapped, sexually assaulted and stabbed to death.

Taylor, now 46, had come within hours of being put to death in 2006 before the execution was stayed. A co-defendant, Roderick Nunley, now 48, also remains imprisoned on a death sentence.

Both pleaded guilty, but each implicated the other as the primary assailant. They were sentenced to death by a Jackson County judge.

Taylor is one of about 20 Missouri death row inmates involved in a federal lawsuit challenging the state’s lethal injection procedures.

“This is exceptionally premature in light of the status of the lethal injection litigation,” his attorney, John Simon, said of Friday’s order.

Missouri did not carry out any executions between February 2011 and November. Since then, the state has executed two inmates after adopting a new execution protocol using the drug pentobarbital. A third man, Herbert Smulls, is scheduled for execution early Wednesday.

It's weird how non-believers (or even different believers) tell believers how to believe.

I would argue then that that particular person who was murdered also had the chance to know God.

God seems to use death to reach people.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying, but if you're saying what I think you are, we're not talking about the same things.

I'm talking about (for example) a non-Christian telling a Christian of brand X what Christians of brand X actually believe.

Why? All you have to do is go to brand X's website and get a full run down of their dogma.

Is this directed at me? If so, I wasn't telling him how or what to believe, just asking questions. I feel like what scripture says is opposite of what the bible belt states believe.

I am a believer, but not a follower.

These particular non-believers don't bother doing that. In fact, they generally don't even know which brand the person they're talking to subscribes to. There are a few exceptions, but very few.

I don't remember you being one of the people who prompted that comment. The next time I see a post that strikes me that way, I'll point it out.

I find it odd that the believers of the prophet Mohammed cannot agree or the believers of Christ cannot agree. There is no brand x website for any of them nor a brand x book for that matter. One thing they all do seem to agree on is you get the better deal in the afterlife. I find that strange. For my own part I do not recall telling them to believe anything. They seem to be confused enough already~

Who did that? I think it is more something like, "Hey wait, didn't you say all life is sacred? Or did you really just mean some life? Didn't you say that to take a life is a sin? Or did God say there are some exceptions for you?"
