Obamacare is not working for me

So I enrolled my family into Obamacare.

In the state of Indiana, there are only three insurance companies who are willing to participate the Market Exchange: Anthem, PHP, and MDwise.

Anthem has very limited doctors and no local hospital.

PHP has many local doctors but no local hospital.

MDwise has local hospital but no local doctor.

I chose PHP but if my family indeed need hospital care, we have to drive 60 miles away.

What is the point to have an insurance policy like this?

That is the essence of the letter which I wrote to our President last week.

So get a policy from any other company in the world. You aren't tied to the Affordable Care Act.

Thanks for the update report. But ya' know there's a saying:
"Beggars can't be choosey."
Not trying to be rude, but as I recall you were also collecting a rather large entitlement, taken out of people like me who suffered a gigantic increase in premium with cuts in coverage. You have no right to complain. I do appreciate hearing about how it's working or not tho.

No longer important. Now we are focused like a laser on evil rich folk. Feel good that your policy has hidden fees to pay for abortions. Forward!!!

Yes, due to our family income, we are covered the premium thru subsidy. So I have to find additional health insurance policy to cover what is shortchanged.

But the government mandates us to enroll, yet we find out the policy is not serviceable. And I have no choice to back out.

It might be cheaper to just pay the penalty to not enroll. You're taking your chances but if you can't afford it do what ACA was supposed to cure--use the Emergency room. Outside of that, take very good care of yourself and family.

Progressive government at its best. You get a shit policy you are forced to buy at a cheap price and others are having their hard earned money confiscated to pay for the shit product.

Nanny state liberal policy. No winners. Many losers. Bigger government. Less freedom.

I want to be a good soldier to fall in line.

Yes, taking the penalty is an option. But it seems to me that we can't take the penalty every year as it will get progressively severe. And the coverage problem is still left wide open.

California folk must be thrilled how its working.....

California has long been the flagship for Obamacare. It was targeted last fall by President Barack Obama’s own activist group, Organizing for Action, for precisely that reason: given the strength of their volunteer efforts, they hoped the state could be a symbol for the success of Obamacare as a whole.

That is one reason that there is so much loud cheering by the media’s left-wing commentators every time Covered California, the state’s Obamacare program, announces that it has achieved something, no matter how modest–or how exaggerated.

Yet many of Covered California’s “successes” are only relative to the failure of the program as a whole, and most of them are overblown. For example, on the day Obamacare enrollment started, Covered California reported that it had received 5 million web hits. In fact, however, it had received only 645,000–roughly 10% of what was initially reported. [...]

So roughly three times as many people have lost insurance as have gained it. That is what the left now defines as “success.” The rest of the country is presumably meant to take heart from the fact that California’s performance highlights the best-case scenario for Obamacare. And there are other problems–a boycott by Calfornia doctors, for one.

why wouldn't the OP just use medicaid? Seems like a much better deal than signing up to actually pay for healthcare. Unless his income is too high, but that seems odd given that he's qualifying for subsidies anyway.

The State of Indiana only allows 100% poverty level for Medicate. The Obamacare allows 400% poverty level for subsidy.
