Hillary Clinton: Benghazi ‘biggest’ regret

Hillary admits she lied and knew of the lie.

Hillary Clinton: Benghazi ‘biggest’ regret

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton remained vague on her 2016 ambitions Monday, but said her biggest regret while leading the department was the 2012 attacks in Benghazi.

“You make these choices based on imperfect information and you make them to — as we say — the best of your ability. But that doesn’t mean that there’s not going to be unforeseen consequences, unpredictable twists and turns,” Clinton said Monday during the National Automobile Dealers Association conference in New Orleans, according to video from CNN.

Clinton, asked if she would have any “do-overs,” replied, “Oh, sure.”

“My biggest, you know, regret is what happened in Benghazi. It was a terrible tragedy, losing four Americans two diplomats and now it’s public, so I can say two CIA operatives,” Clinton said. Blaming it on a video was the only thing we could come up with on such a short notice. I sent Susan Rice to do the Sunday news shows I'm nobody's fool.

She added that Ambassador Chris Stevens, who also died during the attack, was “one of our very best but he had to take the collateral damage for this administration” I'm sorry the others lost their lives also, I guess that makes them patriots she said laughingly.

The behavior of Clinton’s aides increasingly signals they realize Benghazi remains an issue for her. Marking a new phase in the pushback, Clinton’s adviser Philippe Reines recently appeared on CNN himself to address Benghazi following the Senate report faulting the State Department for the attack.

I read that bold part a couple times and thought, Did she really say that?
No, she didn't. You added that in, but most people won't figure that out. That's pretty shitty.

This supposed to be the entire interview. I haven't watched it yet.

Neither was this:

Unless that was part of the interview not recorded in the article.

Hillary was asked if she had any regrets.

Hillary said she regretted Benghazi! What a bitch!

Had she given a different response:

That video I posted just contains a speech that she gave. I still haven't found a recording of the entire interview.

Yeah, I saw that too.

Neat how he wrote "Hillary admits she lied and knew of the lie" at the top. So I'm expecting to read some kind of admission. Usually, people just
mis-state facts in comments they make before the article. He made something up, then put stuff in the story to match what he made up. Pretty shitty.

The weird thing is that this stuff is unnecessary. The facts that have come out are damning enough. We had an embassy in a "hot" area. The leadership at the embassy requested more security/military presence but that request was denied. The embassy was attacked by a terrorist group during a riot. The attack went on for quite some time and additional assets were not called in to help repel it, the reasons given for this lack of response (as I recall) were both political and logistic, those excuses are questionable at best. Our administration deliberately fed us false information regarding the cause, participants and nature of the attack. These lies were later admitted and national security was given as justification for them. Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, was undeniably a major player in this. We are once again left wondering how much responsibility our POTUS has for an unfortunate incident during his tenure.

That part is true although I don't see it in the article. She said that they were keeping their knowledge of the terrorists secret so that they wouldn't know how much we knew. That was the official reason for lying.

Which part of the lack of response specifically was political? And what specifically do you think should have been done differently?
