Minimum wage will go up to $10.10 according to the Prez

It is only for new federal government contracts for services, like janitors and construction workers. What happens to the $15 minimum wage the fast food workers want?

I wonder who he'll have in the victims' gallery? You know, those people they always sit up on the balcony next to Michelle, who have been victimized by evil republican policies and greedy rich people, and whom he's going to help just by waving his messianic hand - but you should all look upon them and cast them a few seconds of pity first, like "ignorance" and "want" in A Christmas Carol...

That gay basketball player, no doubt a sob story teacher, a single mom who had her ovaries removed by aliens, and a 3 piece Mariachi band that can't find work.

I wonder what minimum wage is in China...

This is why they're winning. What do you think would happen if a bunch of workers in Bejing decided to go on strike?

Their vacant positions will probably be filled up by others waiting on line really fast.

$15 is too high a minimum wage - obviously - but I have no problem with $10, at least here in the expensive part of the country.

One idea I thought of is to have a scaled minimum wage based on how many years you have been in the work force. If 2,000 hours is a year, you might have $8 per hour minimum to start, then $9 after you've payed taxes on 10,000 hours, then $10 after 20,000, and so on, up to a maximum of something like $12. It might encourage companies to lay off (or not hire) older workers in favor of younger ones, but then that in turn might encourage people to develop some skills so they can move beyond sandwich artist.

I don't know, I just thought it up. What do you guys think?
