I wouldn't be at all surprised because I have been reading your posts of late. Soon you will be left of me. I would disagree with your take about liberals wanting everyone else to pay except them. I think quite the opposite, most liberals are very willing to pay more taxes for things like Single Payer healthcare, better infrastructure, better education etc.

This is so not surprising.

Nothing bad at all could come from essentially locking the people out of the nomination process. Who cares if people are forced to choose between two people that nobody wants...

What has gotten worse?

Kids now have lower rates of violence, teen pregnancy, and drug use than they did in the 90's.

Two things that never change:

1. People always think things are getting worse.

2. Things are pretty much always getting better.

But basically, people are locked out now. If you are not a member of a party you have no say in who the candidates are. If you are a member, you only have a say in regards to some of the candidates. I hate to go all BEP here, but there's nothing in the constitution that says a candidate must be the nominee of a party or that even endorses the structure of a party system.

If someone is a member of a political group and that group wants to hold a process to name one of their members as the candidate of choice from that group, it seems like that should be up to them. What business is it of the govt who some group wants to say is their choice to be president (or whatever office)?

I think 91% of the people being locked out of the process is something in need of reform. I know that's how it is now. I oppose it, and you apologize for it.

Your second paragraph is a mind-****. First of all the system is rigged against that. Second of all the govenment is dropping 400 ****ing million in tax dollars for them and that kind of involves them in the process.

The fact that a group is actively attempting to reform this isn't a bad thing, but people like you want the process to remain in the hands of the ruling class. It's like digitized feudalism. IT's a broken system that is neither democratic or representative. For the voiceless, it's oppressive.

I'm not sure we're understanding each other.
I don't think the govt should be dropping $400M into the process of nominating the choice of a political party.

We'll just have to agree to disagree, I guess.

I mean, that's fine.

Aside from the part at the bottom, what I'm saying is fact. The bottom part is an observation that also rings true if you read through history books and see how drunk and violent society used to be.

Do you think lower rates of teen pregancy, violence, and drug use show a decline in culture? Even if so, you can find NOTHING else that correlates to other than 'lack of god in school'?

The reality is that societies with more atheism have less crime, less violence, and less drug use than the United States. Disagreeing is fine, but the facts and statistics are endlessly supportive of my position.

I think over-medicating our kids, TV from the Disney Channel to MTV showing shows that glorify teen pregnancy, bad language that is no longer bad language, among other things has gotten worse. It isn't always about violence and drugs. That being said perhaps this new generation can get things back on track.

Dude, your fist few posts in this thread were so ****ed up because you didn't even watch the video before thinking you knew something about something. And once again you follow that up with this gem.

Of course they shouldn't. They do though, and the parties themselves change the rules and essentially choose candidates on an authoritarian basis.

One either supports reform that involves everyone in the process, or they favor the current 'closed' system that allows 91% to be ignored. I'm firmly on the side that gives me a voice I don't currently have. I'm not a card carrying dem or rep, and since you probably are (i'd be stunned given you're such a partisan apologist) it doesn't matter as much to you. It matters a LOT to me.
