David Jolly (R) defeats Alex Sink (D) in special election

This election was considered a toss-up and closely watched. Just don't know about anyone here. It was a special election to replace Republican Congressman
Bill Young who died in office this past fall. Sink wanted to keep Obamacare and Democrat turnout was reported as heavy earlier in the day by Jolly. Sink outspent him by more than double with money coming from D.C.

Jolly won. The Libertarian took some votes away too. Some consider it a harbinger for the fall elections. Let's hope so.

Way to go Pinellas County.

Yep ! But the dirty little secret is that Jolly ran very hard against 'amnesty' as well which came in second most important behind BarryCare BUT ONLY Obamacare will be 'touted' by the MM never mentioning 'amnesty' as the RINOs want it that way because RINOs want 'amnesty'.

Well, the press down her said Sink outspent Jolly 2.5 to 1. Fox claimed 4 to 1--not sure I trust Fox on that but they may be right.

Sink wasn't that moderate. No moderate would support Obamacare. Jolly wasn't idea and imo Bircher was better. But Jolly sure was better than a carpetbagger moving into my county just for the purpose of power instead of representing the people who live here. Jolly is from Pinellas at least.

I held back my absentee ballot a week before the election due to the outbreak in Crimea. I called his campaign office to seek his position on that and told him that I didn't want to get involved and was sick of this type of thing. I left a message....and he actually called me back hours later saying it was him. I didn't believe him at first but it was. He said he wasn't for any military involvement. So I still voted for him. I told him what happened to my HC plan too.

I was impressed that he could lower himself to handle the messages at his campaign office and talk to a local citizen.

Outspent 4 to 1? 2 to 1? You guys need to get your facts straight. Total spending was $7,032,741 for Sink and $5,371,456 for Jolly. That's total money spent. Sink raised more money but Jolly got bailed out by national interests that are looking to use the victory as a narrative against the Affordable Healthcare Act. (Think Koch brothers.) You can stop gloating now. The small gap in the final election results mirror the party demographics for the county. So it's not surprising that Jolly won with the influx of national money and the demographics of the county.

But seriously... How do you not vote for anyone named "Jolly"? That would be akin to booing and throwing snowballs at Santa during a half-time show. Good thing for Jolly the election wasn't held in Philly.
No, you need to get your facts straight. Our local press said Jolly was outspent 2.5 to 1 and she was funded by money from DC Democrats. Maybe Jolly had some national help too but Sink spent more PLUS she's a carpetbagger. None of this comes from any right-wing blogs either.

Your last paragraph is lame, stupid and not an argument.
