Looks like someone made a "donation" to Hovind, who is a felon, by the way.

I'll Alert the media! Was it you? I never gave him a dime btw, and he always gave his stuff away for free so arguing that he was conning people to send him money is absolute bullshit. Now maybe you don't like his conclusions but he's hardly anywhere close to what Trudeau is.

I actually saw Kent Hovind speak once. A friend of mine reads his website and has a lot of his materials, and he invited me to come along. I didnt know who Hovind was at the time. It was basically an overview of the young-earth view of creationism. I don't really have an opinion on that topic, but people who are young-earth tend to be very dogmatic about it.

He was involved in a lot of kooky stuff... conspiracy theorism, tax protesting, etc. For someone who seems like a smart guy, it was rather foolish for him to get involved those things. I think he would get out of prison next year.

Well, maybe dogmatic isn't the right word. I mean people with the young-earth view seem to be more opinionated about it, on the average.

Again he didn't swindle it, all donation based and he truly believes what he teaches. He was out in the open about not wanting to pay taxes.

Dogmatic is the perfect word.

Dogmatic - Merriam-Webster Online

The whole group can't be generalized that way. Participating in a debate, using reason to try to convince people of your position, acknowledges that the beliefs can be doubted by thinking people. Otherwise there'd be no point to it.

Young Earth creationism is dogma. It's a belief held only within a certain religious group, opposes all natural evidence, and they believe it on faith. Why? Because the REAL evidence comes from outside their belief system.

Dogmatic is the perfect word.

Debating an 'outsider' doesn't change that.

It's entirely possible that someone could be making an honest attempt to investigate a certain matter, and depending on what pieces of evidence they look at, not come to the same conclusion as me.

Isn't your statement really the one that is dogmatic?
