Thank you.

It also sounds like Ham was not arguing from perspectives related to cosmology, geology, or the fossil record which is normally what I saw related to their arguments. Heck when I saw Hovind give that lecture, he didn't reference scripture once. He said things relating to the science that sounded plausible, but I acknowledged that I don't possess the education background to evaluate the claims he was making. (I suspected he didn't either, but anyway)

I don't follow this issue all that closely, but I don't think Ham's response to that question is generally representative of the group as a whole.
I would ask you to give an example of some of the plausible arguments made by Kent Hovind, but I think I've highjacked this thread too much already.

I just couldn't resist bringing up Hovind in a thread that Killer Clown started about a con artist and a fraud.

If you are interest William Lane Craig, Frank Turek, Francis Collins and Dinesh DíSouza to name a few represent your beliefs much more effectively than a buffoon like Hovind~

I've heard Craig on a number of occasions, and I like him. Turek I'm a little familiar with.

There are some outstanding debates on YouTube you might enjoy. It is not for everyone. I have spent countless hours listening to different debates regarding this subject and others. When working in the yard or in my shop more often than not I am listening to a debate, interview or an audio book involving people I find interesting. There was a time it would be music. I rarely listen to music at home or in my truck anymore. I do however have the advantage of listening to music at work~

Of course that is not scientifically possible. Hovind knows this and says "I believe it because that's what the bible says."

Hovind references the bible dozens of times in every speech. Hovind's science doesn't hold water at all (seewhatIdidthere?)

I'm not a Hovind guy, I'm just talking about one example that I wandered in to and was probably 10 years ago. It is certainly possible I forgot something. In any case, I'm not advocating for him at all. I think he's a poor example when there are many more thoughtful people on his side of Creationism to be heard.

Well, kind of.

I have yet to hear any intelligent argument for Young Earth creationism. I doubt that it exists.

I've listen to craig and found him to be incredibly intelligent, though he isn't making that same argument. He's essentially arguing for the existence of god and the probability of intelligent design (which is a type of creationism). He's not ignoring all natural laws and evidence. He works around that stuff. He's a smart guy and I don't consider him crazy at all.

Perhaps he makes YEC claims, but not in anything I've listened to. he sticks with the good old 'god of the gaps'. Seems he's usually debating atheists, not scientists though. I don't really see them as doing the same thing.
