I think the Obama administration will be counting you as someone who's now covered, since it doesn't seem to matter in their figures if someone ever paid for a plan, checked out on the website, or even completed the selection process.

Totally consistent attitude with all tax-related activities.

It's your responsibility to figure how much you owe. You **** up and you get penalized and a visit form the IRS

Well they did tell the companies with over 50 people they didn’t have to obey they law but, hey as long as you don’t file a Tax return and have a refund do you they can’t come collect, well until the change the rules again. When the fine/tax is cheaper than having insurance, and they have no way to collect if from you unless you have an income generating a refund and the Insurance companies still have to cover these same people after they become sick it really isn’t a recipe for success.

Unfortunately the two least bad solutions are to make people responsible for their selves and the hospitals let those unwilling or unable to pay, suffer the consequences. The other option is the exact opposite. Have a truly socialized health care system where it is all paid for by the government and funded through taxes. We will eventually get to the 2nd option but it will probably have to get much worse before people are willing to do that. The ACA may have been designed as a large step in the direction of make things so much worse that they people will agree to anything to get out of the mess it will become.

It's funny how people are attacking a guy for "waiting until the last minute." It's a ****ing website transaction. It shouldn't take ALL DAY. Period. There is NO excuse, none at all, for the website.

IF you didn't get insurance in time, you actually have until April 15th

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/...A2P2EE20140326

IF you decide to skip insurance altogether (not something I recommend) you don't have to pay the $95 penalty.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottgot...obamacare-tax/

Plenty of "hardship" exemptions that require no documentation.
