So single payer then?

The real number is likely some what south of 1 million. With a population of 316 million, what a joke.

Why? Do you think 7.1 million people have PAID for insurance through the exchanges? If you do then you are delusional. The White House was careful not to make that claim directly even though that is how they are presenting it.

That is data they could have at any time and release to the public but when asked for it they stall and say "we don't have that data; the insurance industry does." Does that sound like they are trying to be transparent and forthcoming? Or does it sound like they know the figures are far worse and they are holding off until the numbers catch up enough to make it less embarrassing?

You do understand he's paying his own premiums right? I legitimately ask because every conservative on here seems to think Obamacare is simultaneously a free handout from the govt and also onerously expensive to the end user. Sort of like how Obama is a mom-jeans wearing pussy/facist tyrant simultaneously cowering to our enemies and imposting his Imperial will on us at the same time. Magical thinking ftw.

Are you saying that everyone who signs up for the exchanges doesn't get subsidized if they can't afford the premiums?

Are you saying everyone does? Because "well you do realize we're paying for it?" is the standard answer from you guys every time I tell the story about my general contractor uncle who has been uninsurable through private insurance for over a decade but now can finally get coverage.

Obamacare is going to have a lot of stories like these. Most people at some point will know someone who was dramatically helped just by having access to a risk pool like those of us who work for corporations or govt. It's going to be a little harder to think of Obamacare as the worst piece of legislation ever at that point, and my guess is republicans will slowly back away from their "Repeal everything now!" stance. Probably won't happen before the mid-terms though.

No, I'm not saying that everyone does. But, when someone says that "My half retarded dead beat cousin signed up no problem," you'll forgive me if I presumed that dead beat included little income, which it generally does.

Just stop your nonsense NOW! There have already been two posters here who signed up who admitted to getting substantial subsidies. People who are good at getting something at other's expense seem to have a knack for working the system it seems. That deadbeat cousin of aturnis may just be one of them.
