Free tax filing software

I saw this one in the web: http://www.freetaxusa.com/efile_dire...m_content=irs2

Would you put your personal info in this software?

How do you do your tax?

Just Google "freetaxusa reviews".

Just based on what I'm seeing, I wouldn't use them.

Unless your return is incredibly simple, I would recommend finding a good CPA. You may pay $100+ more for your return, but, in many cases, I find that people don't know what they don't know and can make up at least the cost of the return preparation by hiring a good CPA. (People do some stupid things with their money)

Ask for a checklist and have your information in order when you hand it over. That will save you money as well.

1040.com, not sure why anyone would need to pay money to do this.

My returns are a bit complicated at this point in life, but when I finally gave up and had a professional do them I was surprised at how little I knew about it.

That's pretty common. So many people try to save a few bucks by preparing their returns themselves and end up paying way too much in taxes.

This.

Most people are actually costing themselves money by doing their own taxes. Sometimes a lot of money.
