Gay Agenda claims a new victim: Mozilla CEO

They just want to be accepted as equals. Nothing more, nothing less.

Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich forced to resign for supporting traditional marriage laws
BY JOEL GEHRKE | APRIL 3, 2014 AT 3:48 PM

Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich resigned under pressure after gay rights activists demanded that he step down or recant his support of traditional marriage laws.

Eich donated $1,000 to support Proposition 8, the California ballot initiative that amended the state's constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman.

"I don't want to talk about my personal beliefs because I kept them out of Mozilla all these 15 years we've been going,” Eich told The Guardian. “I don't believe they're relevant.”

That wasn't an option. "CEO Brendan Eich should make an unequivocal statement of support for marriage equality," a Credoaction petition signed by almost 75,000 people said, per The Inquirer. "If he cannot, he should resign. And if he will not, the board should fire him immediately."

When asked if his beliefs about marriage should constitute a firing offense the way racism or sexism does, Eich argued that these religious beliefs — and beliefs popular as of 2008 — should not be used as a basis for dismissal.

"I don't believe that's true, on the basis of what's permissible to support or vote on in 2008," he told CNET. "It's still permissible. Beliefs that are protected, that include political and religious speech, are generally not something that can be held against even a CEO. I understand there are people who disagree with me on this one."

On Thursday, Mozilla announced that he had resigned. "Mozilla prides itself on being held to a different standard and, this past week, we didn't live up to it," executive chairwoman Mitchell Baker wrote. "We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right"

It's sad that many conservatives couldn't ever understand that critical distinction.
When I was a kid I had a friend who was from the deep South. He was extremely prejudiced against blacks, and he talked all the time about how those damn ****ers don't want the same rights as everybody else, they want SPECIAL rights.

That was the first time I'd ever heard the term "special rights". I've heard it many times since then, and the usage of the term has always been the same.

The group targeted by the slur changes, but the intent behind the person making the statement seems pretty consistent. When your every thought is filled with an obsessive hatred of any particular group, all of the rights they ask for become "special" rights they are demanding.

The only social issues conservatives seem to protest anymore is abortion. They seem to have abandoned counter-protests to the gay marriage proponents.

Why? I don't know. You'll have to ask them. In any case, I still don't see how Chik Fil A is relevant to this conversation. Gay marriage proponents protested Chik Fil A, a corporation whose very public mission statement falls right in line with their donations to family PACs. That very protest was in itself kind of dumb, because it was obvious that Chik Fil A would never change what it represented or the people who were in charge of that mission statement. And in this case, it was a huge benefit to the company.

In one situation, counter protests lead to an increase in profits and sales to the company. In another situation, the board of directors removes the CEO.

Could it be that the protests have nothing to do with the actions taken by the company leaders?

I want someone who really believes it to enlighten me. Garcia Bronco would be a good choice, since he apparently does.

Prison Bitch would be a poor choice, since we all know he's a closet homosexual. Then again, maybe that would make him the perfect choice. HE could tell us why he CHOSE to be that way.

It's weird their argument is basically if gays get the same rights, then just take mine away so they don't get them.

/saying its a contract also isn't getting into the numerous other things government does with marriage.

Maher: "There Is A Gay Mafia -- If You Cross Them, You Do Get Whacked"

In the online-only "Overtime" portion of his HBO show Real Time, host Bill Maher weighed in on the Mozilla controversy, and did not react in a way that you would think. Maher seemed to disagree with gay rights activists for targeting Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich because of a 2008 donation to support a ballot initiative that would ban same-sex marriage in California.

"Well, and he gave it when President Obama was still against gay marriage. So, I don't think it's very fair," Carrie Sheffield of Forbes said.

"Good point," Maher responded.

"I think there is a gay mafia," Maher said. "I think if you cross them, you do get whacked."

It's kind of disgusting that there was even any need for him to change his image. He's been a senior executive at Mozilla since the beginning and during that time Mozilla has been one of the most gay-friendly employers in the world. As far as I can tell, he's never demonstrated an iota of intolerance toward gays, particularly in the workplace.

Opposition to gay marriage isn't intolerance.
