Progressive Professor Urges White Male Students to Commit Suicide During Class

http://diversitychronicle.wordpress....-during-class/

Quote:
“If you are a white male, you don’t deserve to live. You are a cancer, you’re a disease, white males have never contributed anything positive to the world! They only murder, exploit and oppress non-whites! At least a white woman can have sex with a black man and make a brown baby but what can a white male do? He’s good for nothing. Slavery, genocides against aboriginal peoples and massive land confiscation, the inquisition, the holocaust, white males are all to blame! You maintain your white male privilege only by oppressing, discriminating against and enslaving others!” Professor Noel Ignatiev, a tenured professor at Massachusetts College loudly proclaimed to his class last Monday, his final teaching day before retirement.

And Pat, yeah, BEP deserves some shit piled on her, but not in this case. People look at percentages vs total amounts all the time. Her bringing that up was not the stupidest thing ever like some of these guys were going on about. They just want to ride BEPs ass because it makes them feel big to be the bully.
Because people who understand how to make valid comparisons know how stupid it was.

Nope. It was plain and clearly stated to another poster on "the other" board that I will not mention.

Quote:
I don't know who made the error, but I know it's never been corrected (despite the fact that you brought it to Ron Paul's campaign's attention and it's printed under Ron Paul's name).
Nope. It doesn't exist at all in his original document that Paul actually authored. I had to track by calling the actual govt. I don't have it anymore. In fact I don't have my computer anymore. I am using someone else's.

Quote:
An error stops being an error when you know about it but you don't correct the record.
I didn't know it was an error at first until I researched the original document after asking his office about it who said someone may have made an error transcribing it. Send an email to Lew Rockwell and point it out as they had that version up. They do correct their mistakes. However, it's minor compared to the bulk of the quote and you know it. You just will never admit it.

Quote:
Conveniently, it's an "error" that tends to lead an unwary reader to be more likely to buy the (false) notion that Reagan's foreign policy was largely in sync with Ron Paul's foreign policy, so there's that.
Actually, the one or two lines that we're discussing do NOT do that at all. NOT if you read those pages in the book and even better the entire chapter.

You are now arguing just to argue. I never even said Ron Paul's FP was "largely in sync" with Reagan. I was commenting, originally, on Reagan's foreign policy in the Middle-East in contrast to the Bush Doctrine. I have previously posted that Reagan's FP was in the Realist FP camp*-- not the NeoCon camp which does differ with the latter being far more aggressive. That quote CERTAINLY does show what Reagan thought of the latter FP. So does the whole chapter. Putting our Marines in Beirut was one of his biggest FP regrets and he said so the day he left office per one of his former advisors.

Quote:
They don't call me Mr. Hostility for nothing.
Oh really. Well, you were trained as a lawyer.

* The same as Jim Baker and Brent Scowcroft--both who were critical of going into Iraq. In fact there's a quote I saw of Cheney's that sounds similar from back during PGWI that is similar.

Just so you know in advance...they're not really saying Reagan's an "Isolationist." That's sarcasm about McCain's absurd claims.

Cosmo was at his best in 4th grade picking on girls.

Now he seeks that same feeling of superiority and does it on the internet when he has the cover of a group of others who live for the opportunity to pick on BEP.

She manages all this extremely well. But that never seems to slow down the scumbags like Nitwit or his lapdog Cosmo as they carry on.

Oh, and if you want to properly compare things of two different sizes then percentages are the proper way to do it every time. Like your tax example, if to figure out if what kind of tax burden rich or poor have, we look at the percentage of their income that they pay in taxes (and all taxes if you're not a disingenuous partisan hack). The fact that you don't understand this and stick up for BigotEyedPea is not surprising.

Edit: and @ the fact you think she is smarter than anyone.

If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that the first person to call someone else names has no other argumentative leg to stand on.

Didn't you guys notice that, like maybe back in elementary school? The first kid to call the other one a snot-eating pig-brain was the one who had just lost.

Let me clarify. I thought it was obvious that I was talking about posts that were personal attacks and nothing else. But I can see how that may not have been clear as I was at work and posting quickly.

You often respond to people with a personal attack, and don't address the content of their post or their position at all. You try to belittle them, to make their position seem beneath you and not worth actually responding to, but you do seem to have a need to respond.

It's DC on CP. I expect personal attacks and frequently tell people what I think of them. But if all we do is try to belittle the other person and not address what they said, we might as well be monkeys flinging shit. Which is sadly what this forum tends to become and why I don't hang around all that often.

I'm probably guilty of it too at times, but ****ing hell dude it seems like people on this board feel like they have to be a dick to BEP about anything she says. And if you took the time to actually read some of it, you might actually see that a lot of what she posts isn't lunatic fringe unless you consider the constitution lunatic fringe.

The fact that BEP brought up the total amount of aid wasn't pivotal to the topic at hand, but I don't think she was basing any argument on it, and it isn't completely irrelevant information in response to the preceeding posts. It's another point of reference. I was basically telling people to lay off. It seems like there is way more than her fair share of piling on going on, especially lately. Since I don't read anywhere near everything that gets posted on this board, maybe she was really asking for it and I just don't know. But somehow I don't think so.

You'll probably respond to this post with a facepalm smilie. But, whatever dude.

Her interpretation of anything Constitution related is fringe. Her historical takes are fringe. Her economic takes are fringe. She is the definition of lunatic fringe.

When a post deserves scorn, I will deliver. When a post deserves an honest reply, then it gets an honest reply.
