Tea Party loses primary in NC

Thom Tillis, from the establishment GOP beats the TP...

http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/06/politi...html?hpt=hp_t2

My guess is the TP doesn't win a single senate primary this go round. The GOP learned its lesson last time with the likes of Aiken et al and will select establishment candidates in the attempt to take back the Senate. They may succeed.

If the GOP doesn't compromise, and we both agree on that - how would you know if the dems ever tried to compromise or not? Since you seem to hold the standard that well if there is no compromise obviously the dems never tried.

Your question didn't make sense to me. I'm not the one who connected negotiation and compromise to unfettered control. Unfettered control is control without compromise, see Obamacare for an example.

It's clear you (and your party) believes that "compromise" means that the GOP compromises on its core beliefs and accepts yours.

Why were the GOP's core beliefs against the payroll tax cut? Or for that matter the health insurance mandates that were dreamed up by the Heritage Foundation, pushed by the GOP as a counter to Hillarycare in '94 (and at least by some until 2008), and implemented by a republican governor.

How is it a part of the GOP's core values that they must all vote in one block and never bring a bill to the floor unless it has a majority of republican support? Dems don't have such a rule.

Norman Ornstein of the American Enterprise Institute, an opponent of the rule, has said the rule is a major reason why bills passed on a bipartisan basis in the Senate are often not later introduced in the House.[4] He has also said that, as Speaker of the House, "you are the party leader, but you are ratified by the whole House. You are a constitutional officer", and that at crucial times a speaker must put the House ahead of his or her party.[9]
GOP core beliefs = the opposite of whatever Obama wants.

You must really dislike Obama the way he's caving in to what Republicans supposedly want all the time.

Remember when that was the knock on Obama, after the first debt ceiling and some other negotiations that happened in that timeframe?

Of course on CP Obama can be the mom-jeans wearing pussy who always backs down and tyrannical arrogant dictator shoving his throbbing agenda down the throats of the American public at the same time. The narrative never has to make any sense or be logically consistent as long as Obama = bad. Cognitive dissonance ftw.

It's interesting how for 2 years Obama didn't compromise a wit to the GOP. But somehow, he agreed to a debt ceiling/tax cut deal shortly after the 2010 midterms. The timing was an amazing coincidence. I guess he had a sudden change of heart but I don't know what caused it.

When asked about including the Republican ideas for ObamaCare before it passed Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanual said "**** them, we don't need them". Guess he was reaching across the aisle
