I think the 100,000 workers they claim this will benefit will end up being a far less number

See, that's the problem with people like you. You don't take time to actually read what people say because you're too busy spouting off what you think you know.

And in all honesty, this kind of shit, the raising of the MW, is exactly what I said would happen if the private sector didn't start taking care of its own.

How could this be a bad thing?

I'm sure that the money will come right out of some greedy CEO's pocket.

It's not my fault you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to my opinions on the matter. I've only explained them to you time and time again.

Yep, and what did I say would happen if corporate America, or at least the richest parts of corporate America didn't turn off the greed? Shit like what is happening in Seattle.

But people like you don't seem to ****ing get it. You stand there, all righteous about defending the very people that are ****ing up this country in several ways while bitching about the other people who are being allowed to **** up the country in even more ways namely because of said people you defend.

So what you left out of your smart ass comment, and I don't blame you because it ruins your argument, is that I said if you don't want to pay people then don't bitch when things like the food stamp lines, unemployment lines and minimum wage all go up and on your $.

But it's okay, now you're paying for it while the rich guy with all the tax loopholes laughs at you from his jet.

Pete, nobody is "paying for it" unless they want to. A city can implement any wage law it wants (why not $58/hr?)......but ultimately nobody is immune to the laws of business. If the firms can't make it they will go under and nobody will have a job. Or maybe they relocate. Or! Maybe it all works out.

But the rich guy CEO somewhere on a plane will play zero role in the outcome

It will be an interesting experiment.

This playing out at the city level makes a lot more sense than the federal or even state level. This wouldn't make sense in KCMO but might actually work well in Seattle or LA or NY.

This.

A federal minimum wage doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering the wildly different costs of housing across the country.

Ultimately the consumer will pay, not the CEO's. I wish it was the other way around.
