So the RNC is visiting KC...

Welp, they picked a fine day to be compared to Denver and Dallas... Good!!!

LOL, y'all know I'm a conservative, but I sure hope the weather keeps them away... The LAST thing the hard-working people in downtown need is another daytime event that'll ****-up traffic in an area that's congested with construction gridlock...

Sorry, I'm just not over the tag-team of Standard parking ****ING OVER the parkers in the 13th-and-Grand parking garage by putting in the ****ing piece of shit Arvest bank that took away our only east-side exit onto Grand so that ****ing shitty bank's customers can have a ****ing "downtown" drive-thru banking experience (those corporate money-grubbing slut-whores!!!). Add to it that KC's finest never do a goddamn thing to help folks who actually work downtown/park in that garage by getting a cop (or nine) to direct traffic, and your even more ****ed! Oh, and not that some other ****ing corporate whore is building the new high-rise apartment building at the corner of 13th-and-Walnut and it's all the worse! And I suspect the ****ing beer trucks will STILL park on 13th street right outside of the Flying Saucer and you're quadruple ****ed!

Dear RNC, pick Denver or Dallas, they aren't as stupid as KCMO and their corporate whores prolly don't get away with this much shit!

OK....I feel better!

No way will kc get picked. Hell even the FFA left. Plus Sly needs to build himself a new airport before his term is over. Good graft opportunity in airport builds.

I wouldn't come to KC the other two cities have much more to offer.

It would be fun to watch cosmo try to disrupt the convention however.

**** that.. It's all relative.. Yeah, even you in D.C. have it good compared to others!

In this case it's frustrating because it's stupid! No shit, these ****ers will post cops for any Chiefs/Royals games, but when a daytime event is happening downtown (Big 12 tournament), the cops just stand there like ****ing bumps on a log when traffic is backed-up four stories up a 6-story parking garage...

So, like I've said before, I don't care what the ****ing Sprint Center does after 6:00pm every night, but daytime events ****-up life around the KCP&L District - so ****ing cancel them all!

We do have an arena that can be fully available (since our arena doesn't have an anchor tenant).

Just for the record, that has now been over 10 years ago. As someone who attends that convention every year i am disappointed that it isn't here anymore, but both Louisville and Indy have been great places (Louisville more so than Indy, but both good).

Yeah lets don't bring millions of dollars to Kansas City and millions more in free exposure. Dallas will probably get it though, that is the Republican gold mine and Jerry World would be a hell of a venue for it.

The Police don't direct traffic on private property. Even if that parking garage is City property it most likely leased and managed by a private company. Your beef would be with the management.

Why would they need Jerry's World? Arenas are fine. They aren't going to fill up a 100k stadium. These cities are mostly the same and if they weren't, the last 4 choices wouldn't have been Charlotte-Tampa-Denver-Minneapolis. KC has a fine shot at it, the hotels are the one area we have some ground to make up

They seem to want every major event in the world at Jerry's World. RNC would be another cap in their feather.
